Absolutely not. Fantastic player, but he's a wide player primarily. We need someone in the midfield who will work with Carrick. Hazard is not that player.

I mean, if we get him in the grand because he's clearly a very good player and any team is happy to bring in good players, but he's not what we need.

Clint Dempsey maybe? I'd hate to see him leave Fulham but I figure he'd fit in just fine at Man U. Carrick could link up with him just fine I think.

At the same time 29 and only since last season has he looked great. Be wary of another Arshavin is basically the thing.

I dunno, he's been the class of the USMNT for years now. I think a lot of the reason he's been doing better recently is that he's now being trusted to roam around the attacking midfield more. He'd give another nice bit of grit and determination to the team, too, something Arshavin never brought to the Arse.

He's a good player, no doubt, but it's taken him until he was 27+ to really show it (which is what the Arshavin reference was to). And, well, he's 29. That's, if every journalist who talks about it is to be believed (and there are some that are very definitely to be believed) beyond United's recruitment policy of looking for players 27 and under.

That and, while he's undoubtedly a good player, I don't think he's United quality.

Bugger me. Hearts through to the Scottish Cup final to take on Hibs after beating the Tims 2-1, including two goals (one a penalty) in the last five minutes. I am physically shaking right now that was so tense.

That's a bad angel. There was contact. Plus, There was a definant penalty later when it hit the arm of a villa player, so it's all good.

I'm a bit busy now watching Spurs v Chelsea.

But how about this angle?

It's called contact. It happened. It makes people fall.

Even if it was a dive,it doesn't matter, we were denied an obvious penalty in the 2nd half.

If there was contact it was because Young brought his foot to the defender. Why not just admit he's a cheat?

I fully expect Bale to do something similar in the 2nd half of this game but I'll be man enough to admit it

I haven't seen the game yet but going on your past record I expect your 'obvious' penalty to be bullshit

Wow, this is an incredible game. 2-1 Chelsea, but would they rather have Ceçh off and a penalty for Spurs, or have it a 2-1?

I'd want Cech off and a penalty all day long.

Another question - if that advantage was played anywhere else on the field, the referee would still go back and book the fouler when play next stops. Why not when it's in the box?

Edit

OK... maybe not. But I'm happy with the goal. Our record with pens isn't that good

Who do Chelsea have on the bench? Ross Turnbull or someone? Yeah.

Poor Spurs.

Di Matteo making a strong case for getting the Chelski job on a full-time basis though.

The red card would be for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity. Which clearly didn't happen, seeing as Spurs then scored.

Yeah, but I didn't ask about a red card, I asked about a booking for the foul :p

He could have still booked him for the foul. Not that it would have made any difference to Spurs (unless he got booked again)

Perhaps not the incomprehensibly poor decision it first seemed? Still difficult to tell if the ball was entirely over the line, but from that the decision is not quite so baffling.
