I'd absolutely LOVE to see what happens when the evangelical base has to deal with a Mormon candidate. GO MITTENS GO!!

Obama. I wouldn't be able to vote in 2012 anyway, though. I do give Romney credit for probably being on of the better Republicans I've seen in a while. I may be biased, though, since he was my state's governor at one point, though, I barely remember him.

I would have to break down and cry, if I lived in the USA. With a choice between two conservatives, and no parties representing my views. As well as your (in my opinion) insane view on taxation (taxes leads to security from the government which leads to happinness. If you look at the happiest countries in the world they're also among the most highly taxed: Scandinavian countries, the low countries etc.), the environment and patriotism (any citizen that finds the burning of its flag as actively offensive or saddening is being ridiculous by my viewpoint) you give yourself a choice between someone who's very conservative by the standards of the rest of the western world and a party that's seen as insane AND very conservative by the rest of the world.
Basically, as a nation. I pity you.

Not the most likely match-up at all; Romney will probably experience another meltdown the way he did in 2008. He may win New Hampshire, and he might do well in Michigan, but it's all downhill after that.

Until there's nothing but a core of a few demented demagogues in a shared hallucination, screeching furiously about imaginary enemies to an audience that isn't there. So basically the Tea Party without the public attendance.

And then they'll finish the tragedy with an armed revolt. Just because they're nut-jobs.

that would seem to be why he wouldnt get the nomination.

the republican base wants a hardline "conservative" (there is nothing conservative about a party that wants to change everything now) and they know that romney is lying. they dont want a compromiser, they dont want a wannabe. they know that romney isnt one of them.
whatever

hmm, well, we don't need your pity or your fuckin' bullshit generalizations and lame-ass shit talkin' sense of superiority. I got nothin' against netherlands and I think it would be great to have a viable left-wing party, I agree with you that both candidates are painfully conservative, that we don't have enough freedom, and that our govt has problems, but ya don't gotta be a dick about it. The US is a big-ass complicated country with a lot of different people in it and there's a lot of very sensible reasons why some people here want a more fiscally conservative government, and I don't think that socialism solves everything, I'm sure that the Scandinavian countries have their problems, too. People might not like flag burning but it's not fuckin illegal, is it? I hate it when Americans act like the US is the greatest country in the world but it's only slightly less obnoxious when I hear people goin' on about how we're just so fuckin' awful when they clearly don't know jack shit about the situation. STFU.

*ahem* Back on topic....

Obama for me. Things are getting done, and I have no qualms with him now - 'course, I'm not entirely aware of what all he has done thus far as President, but that's not news.

This site has a good listing of what Obama has done as President.
