I don't even remember. Though I do remember the first region I went too was 10000 Islands after I made a "treaty" with the recruiter.

Look for pictures of futuristic helicopters on Google Images. Someone had a best helicopter thread up, I looked through a couple pages of the thread, realized there was a whole website, and stayed for International Incidents and the awesome stuff here.

An IRC channel. I joined because some people were talking about it and made a region, so we become our own private region. Since then, all their nations have died, and I am the last one from that group.

Pretty much. Been here 6 years, in different forms. Unilisia was the nation I made for that region specifically, but I did find an old MS Word file with another nation name and password, and I was like "OH DUDE THIS IS SO DEAD..." and it was, but it brought back memories of greatness past. Now I am waiting for Unilisia to surpass the greatness of my first nation.

^This...I stumbled on NS before make no mistake. I joined a while ago but that account was closed and i didn't want to start from the middle so i started anew. I can't even remember my old nations name.

I remember how I found nation-states exactly:
I was on the game forum for a game called AdventureQuest, on the unofficial games and contest forum, where someone made a text game based off of Nationstates, I joined in, and he gave me the link to the site. He never posted on the forums, though.
