Dont know them? Wikipedia them.
/thread

And dont give the nonsense that we cant prove god does not exist (read, teapot)

You believe there is a god? Fine by me, i believe there are millions of dead greeks, egyptians and sumerians who felt the same way as you do. 1000 years down the road, i believe future generations of humans will look back and laugh at your religion, just as we are doing so to the millions of dead greeks, egyptians and sumerians.

Peace.

Oh YES, because WIKIPEDIA is the profound, end all be all source of reliable information.

Secondly, you CAN'T prove something doesn't exist, whether it's "God," Bigfoot, or an independent quantam singularity at the core of the earth. That's why the burden of proof always falls on those who assert that something exists, not those that doubt its existence.

As for the Greeks, Egyptians, and Sumerians. I do not laugh at them at all, nor do I know anyone who does. I have nothing but the utmost respect for ALL of those listed civilisations. The Greeks gave us mathematics, and you LAUGH at them? The Egyptians figured out a way to preserve their dead that was well beyond their time. And the Sumerians.... great epic poems.

Three great civilisations, one of which kept religion as a very ACTIVE part of their daily life and culture.

Its not my responsiblity to convince a nonbeliever, I am only commanded to go into all the world and preach the gospel to all people. God himself through the Holy Spirit will convince the nonbeliever in his own time.

None of these things proves that god doesn't exist...actually their not even meant too do so

How not, all except the first were made specifically to counter why there is no god.
Also, address the whole post, not just simply a tiny loophole.

The first was actually made in order to show that it is necessary to have in order to believe in god. In other words, to show that one cannot believe in god through proof.

The universe runs on reason and logic, not faith. We don't just believe things to be so; we actively test them. Faith without reason is useless, as I have already suggested, since it has no bearing on reality. Since you have no logical argument, I must conclude that God (at least in your conception of him) does not exist, since there is no reasonable argument supplied to prove his existence. Goodbye.

Yah, but there's something called default position. When there's no evidence to support the existence of something, its logical to assume it doesn't exist for all intents and purposes.

Scripture also says that if after you have attempted to preach that gospel the people will still not listen then you are to knock the dust off of your feet and move on. Which is why this is my last post in this thread.

Otherwise you're plagued all day with worries over the hemorrhoid fairies that live in you office chair and give you extreme hemorrhoids if you don't do the magic sit down on your ass ritual, or the little men that live in your mouth and give you dental abscesses if you don't eat steak every third Wednesday.

Apparently you didn't get the latest memo. The Holy Spirit has commanded me to tell you that going into the world and preaching the gospel seemed like a good idea at the time, but you apparently don't have the knack. He just wants you to let your life be an example and that claiming to be something doesn't make you a better person. Being what you claim to be does.

Occam's Razor - nothing to do with god, but it can be used to counter the notion that the universe couldn't simply exist but had to be created by god.

Russell's Teapot - used as an illustration to point out that just because you can't prove that something doesn't exist doesn't mean it does.

The invisible pink unicorn and the flying spaghetti monster - fictional creatures with god-like characteristics used as an illustration to point out how silly the belief in god is(in a way it's the same logic as the teapot).

In short: None of these is an actual argument against the existence of god. They all are refutations of arguments for the existence of god.

Apparently some of you have missed the episode of the Epilogue where it was found that God exists by a TKO in the third round.

Well, yes, but you can't prove a negative.

They simply demonstrate that there is no positive argument that can be made for the existence of god -- and therefore, according to the logical default position, God doesn't exist. Until proof is shown to the contrary.

There should be some sort of dictionary for NSG
