That's absolutely not true... guys are getting shafted in school starting with elementary due to female teachers playing favorites with female students, but men are simply biologically dealt a better hand to allow them to overtake their female counterparts in thinking capacity. Is every male smarter than every female? No of course not, work ethic has a lot to do with it. But in theory male brain development is geared towards higher thinking to a greater extent than the female brain. So, if any gender was meant to be "the brain" (which is absurd) it would theoretically be the male gender. I'm against the idea of either gender being a slave to the other because a bunch of men with no women can accomplish just as much as a bunch of women with no men (birthing-wise). There have definitely been different social expectations of each gender throughout the milennia. For a long time women were not expected to work and if they did it was the sign of either a poor household or a lazy husband. For a long time in Britain and America women could not be sued in court (you had to sue their husband or father and if she had none she became a ward of the state and you sued THEM. Yeah women couldn't be sued no matter what.) but then again they could not sue either (yep, had to get their husband/father/son to do it). But social expectations also required that, no matter WHAT was in his will, if a man had daughters a portion of his estate was always divided between them upon his death. Even if he disinherited them. It was also considered impolite to sit when a woman entered the room, to leave a woman un-escorted, to allow a woman to open a door herself etc. etc. etc. It wasn't unequal, there were just different expectations and social expectancies cut both ways. In the South you could be arrested for cursing in the presence of a woman for a while or even for whistling at her. Women chose to give up some of the politeness/courtesies for political and economic equality. That's fine. Just don't expect to make off with both.
