Warhammer.

Actually, this reminds me of an odd obsession I did have, back when I was a Warhammer 40,000 player.

I was obsessed with building my own chapter. Of course, back then, you could actually buy enough models to build one, if you were determined. I'd hate to have the same obsession, now.

I know the feeling... But one day I will collect an fluff accurate Salamanders chapter! and then be foreclosed on, because I spent every last cent I owned to make it...

Precisely why I bought the video game instead. I remember watching the games progress and getting incredibly depressed that I couldn't afford it... but then I bought a house.

Well, I started back in the 90's (early), and I've not bought anything this century (which is my marker for when prices got too ridiculous), so I'd imagine I had a couple of thousand pounds worth.

Back at the start, you could get 5 marines for £2.50. And 30 plastic for £10. That didn't last.

And I did make it harder for myself, by choosing to do things like committing to my entire first company being in Tactical Dreadnought (Terminator) armour.
