Yes.

Asking a saint to pray for you is much the same concept. This particular friend has attained eternal life is all.

Do you know what the Biblical basis for praying to a saint for intercession is, though?

That the Bible says that death can't separate the Church of God. Therefore, you can ask the saint to pray for you just as you would ask the living. The only difference is that the Saints are with God in paradise.

Could I get some references for the underlined, please?

Hebrews 12:1-12:1

12Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us,

The 'cloud of witnesses', being the Saints who lie asleep in the Lord.

It means I'm a partial member. It's like being the RCIA(?), but for the Orthodox.

Catechumen? I'm surprised you haven't received confirmation.

Question.

What led you to religion, in general?

I've been going for a while. I just wanted to get immersed in it before I officially committed myself.

Would this be specifically the Bible, or are you interested in religious texts in general?

I was born and raised in it which helped, but I did drift away from it for a while and I've since come back. Albeit with a different view of it from what I was raised with.

It stemmed from stories such as the Good Samaritan, it's also a lesson book in my view, I don't take the bible as the actual word of God, I simply see it as a way to learn how I can extend my compassion and kindness.

Um...

So you believe that this world is beautiful? Um...

Might I ask as to why?
