they way I see it, would you appreciate it if all manner of people could just come through or stay in your house and you had no right to stop it? no you'd be pretty pissed, particularly if a few of them end up causing trouble. now just adjust that to a national level and you might have an idea.

how do we actually help those people? good question, but proper vetting would help keep the troublemakers under control. but then again, that doesn't quite tow the party line.

you mean the ones constantly destabilized by foreign influence and religious/ethnic/regional conflicts? the ones where you could very well end up killed for expressing an opposing view?

to a point, I can agree that they should look after the interests of their country, but I also sympathize with the young Syrians(who are apparently the minority) who don't want to pick up a weapon and kill people for a society that could really give two shits about them. why stick around for the suck when you can try and build a new life for yourself elsewhere? at least before the economic migrants fuck everything up.

Iran is Persian, most of the migrants are Arab so there's that tension, not to mention the schism between Sunni and Shia(can't remember which Iran is).

Saudi Arabia and the other gulf states won't take any of them in because "officially' they're afraid of terrorists sneaking in, the ones they often fund and support, ironically.

Both are on the conservative side to the point of it being radical.
