Can I just say, whilst atm it's cool to say "Lib/Lab/Con suck, go Ukip", I can gaurentee that once Ukip get a taste of power it'll be "Fuck Lib/Lab/Con/Ukip", because trust me, Ukips growth just isn't sustainable, the party is trying to please way too many conflicting ideologies at the same time through broad populism and eventually it's all going to crash.

You can't continue to please your ex Tory Social Conservative core vote that wants abortion banned and gay marriage repealed, whilst trying to accommodate young Libertarian orientated people who want the nhs privatised and drugs legalised, and at the same time left leaning ex Labour voters who want more NHS spending, more welfare spending, etc, eventually Ukip will have to choose a group, and they're as a result going to alienate members of these other groups.

The way I see it, there are two options next year - Labour and the Lib Dems, or the Tories and UKIP.

Cameron did promise a referendum on the EU if he wins the 2015 election.

Hypothetically if the UK voted by the majority to leave the EU, would that spell the end of UKIP, since its whole political fabric of existence was latched onto UK independence from the EU?

Nigel Farage would be remembered as the man who got Britain out of Europe, but he'll be dead in the water politically. Because the EU and immigration will no longer be big issues, UKIP would fade away.

Na, the Swedish Democrats have done quite a bit to try and get rid of their racist image and "suck up to minorities", as have Marine Le Pen and the French National Front. The fact is UKIP for a long time were openly a racist party of angry old White men, it wasn't until around the 2008 mark when the BNP were effectively being demolished by everyone for being proudly racist, that UKIP began to modernise their tactics, and even then it hasn't been easy, there's always a looney Ukip councillor or spokesperson that comes out of the wood work and say's some horrifically offensive shit about gay's or minorities or women, and most of the time UKIP try and swiftly cover it up and deal with the perpetrator, but still, these people still exist.

UKIP of 2014 isn't the same as UKIP of a few years ago. 6 years ago they could have written "Every December 25th is now Jimmy Saville Day" into their manifesto and nobody would have given a toss. Their old manifestos were pretty much the party's anti-EU position and then whatever nonsense the guy writing it thought sounded cool.

I agree with UKIP on a whole variety of issues, but my long-distance girlfriend is Estonian and we were thinking of meeting up, and I fear that UKIP's policies towards foreigners will fuck that up.

I might just go to Estonia, but she really wants to see the UK.
