2024 Solar Eclipse

Sadly, I could barely see it, as it is still very cloudy. That, combined with it being a partial eclipse from where I live, makes it nearly impossible to get a good look at the eclipse.

Yeah, it was definitely noticeable; that and the animal noises going quiet.

I'm in Toronto and a bundle of clouds covered the sun just as totality was being reached and I have been fuming ever since.

It was kind of amusing seeing all the students around me cheering like mad at an otherwise normal-seeming sky though lol

It seems like eclipses happen in the western hemisphere every few years, but NEVER in Australia.

There'll at least be a pretty good one in 2028.

That said... July in the southern hemisphere. It'll be cloudy, we won't see anything.

The only solar eclipse I've ever witnessed was back in 1997. I remember it well because it was the first (and possibly most recent) time a girl ever held hands with me because she got scared. I was only about 7 or 8, but I remember feeling really cool at the time because I had a crush on that girl.

It’s the spiders, snakes, etc. you have to worry about - the tap water is fine.

I don’t remember it being that bad in southern NZ in July - and I did a lot of solar observing from there for 17 years. Seeing a total eclipse from Queenstown - pretty damn cool.

Even though we had like 85-90% Coverage here in New Orleans, it was cloudy all damn day. So, I was not able to see them, even with my really really REALLY nice Eclipse Glasses.

I have a pretty visible field in which many people elected to view the eclipse. My property isn't that far from the main road through town and the local viewing spot parking was filled right up.

We had like 98% totality. Near as I can tell, half of Boston came north. I expected this, so the towing guy and I came to an arrangement.

Man, you could have charged for parking on your property and made a mint!
