No, those are all weapons for killing people. We use them in sport now because they make for good competition.

Do you know how many UK police die a year? It's over the last ten years just 13. Only 5 of them were killed by being shot and 2 by being stabbed. One was runover by a suspect, one was killed in a crash whilst chasing a suspect, One was runover by accident, one was involved in a traffic accident and two collapsed and died of natural causes. There is no reason for the police to be armed as a matter of course they are less likely to be killed in the line of duty than an ordinary member of the public is likely to be murdered or die in an accident.

Where (GB) "self defence" is not an acceptable use for your firearm.
The 27 inch barrel is meant to sort of reinforce that point. It's for hunting, target shooting and generally being awesome.
