I so very, very jelly. When you were working with Bradley's, where were you? I have friend who was Bradley instructor, I'm not sure where, I know he was at Benning, Ord, and a few other places...but I don't now what he was doing at those places, and I'm not sure when exactly.

When I had Bradleys I was at Ft Benning and Garlstadt, Germany

I have a question: You are smiling in the second photo. As an enlisted man, we were instructed not to. Is that due to the difference between the enlisted and officers?
Not sure. They never said not to smile, so I just went ahead and did it.

Hnh. When did the 1st Cav bring the Black Hats back? Back in the 80's they were taken away because they were "elitist" and "non-standard". I always thought that was stupid.

I'm pretty sure it changed in the mid 90s and now it's any cavalry unit that can wear them with local commanders having authority over who can wear them and how to wear them. I first got mine with the 3d ACR, where you had to have spurs (silver spurs given after an EIB sort of event and gold given where a CIB would be given) but I was in another cav squadron where it was either spurs or being an NCO. In most units they're only authorized for wear at unit functions and after Sergeant's Time but I had a commander for a bit who hated the black beret and authorized the stetson for wear whenever the beret would normally be worn.

I weigh almost 600 lbs (and my New Years Resolution is to cross that mark God willing).

I am balding with an extremely greasy comb-over.

I shower every other week whether I need to or not.

I like to wear track pants and hoodies because they are stretchy.

I am unemployed and live in my parents basement where I eat large quantities Cheetos and watch reruns of Star Trek.

My goal in life is to be a moderator in the Nation States forum so I can be a Nazi book-burning 1984 thought-oppressing bully of limited intelligence.

Please help me reach this goal!
