The new Doom soundtrack is so metal. Not surprising coming from Mick Gordon, who did the Wolfenstein: The New Order soundtrack.

Just secured my Blind Guardian tickets for September. Can't believe I'm going to be seeing my favorite band twice in the span of one year.

I want to see Gojira too, but they play literally the day before the BG show...and in a different city. Might not be able to make it work.

As for my earliness... I already know I'm gonna to find a way to go no matter what and it's not worth the risk of forgetting and letting them sell out.

So what's everybody's thoughts on re-recordings? Not just of full albums but of select songs like Amorphis and Testament have done. Is it ever deserved? What bands SHOULD do that now? And if you ask me both of the aforementioned bands did a great job with theirs, Testament actually improving some songs that had kind of meh production like on The Legacy.

I think I realized why I can't get into Grindcore, which is because rarely will a song exceed 2 or 3 minutes from what I've seen.

This is pretty good - never heard of this band before, but I'll probably be listening to them now. I wonder why it is Canada seems to have such a strong techdeath scene?

Yeah, I can't focus on albums when the songs are all extremely short. I do like some grindcore songs individually, but I can't ever sit through very many in succession.

Have they hinted toward new material? Earthborn Evolution wasn't released that long ago.

Holy shit, just looked it up. I'd go for Nile and AtB alone, I'm not a huge fan of Cannibal Corpse, and I've been meaning to listen to most of the rest of the bands on that lineup. I doubt I'll be able to go due to where I live, but if it comes near me I'm going to try to go.

Dude, the 20 seconds of new Carnifex we've heard sounds like the darkest death metal since Behemoth. And they have Mick Kenney from Anaal Nathrakh producing!

It ought to be better than the stuff I've heard from Under Attack. That's some rather mind-numbingly boring thrash, even worse than the last few albums.

Clearly thrash ain't your genre then. Because imo that album was easily the best thrash album this year :p

You should know that by now. My thrash album of the year is the only one I've listened to in full more than once, Terminal Redux.

You should know that I already know that. I was merely making an observation. I'll admit it was rather obvious one but at least I accompanied it with my own opinion.
