The NS Horror & Halloween Thread 2015!

Hello Everycadaver! Here is the 2015 NS horror & halloween thread! I'm unsure whether to put it here or in the general thread, so if anyone thinks it would be better there, just suggest it. Since other people have started Halloween stuff, it seems good to start here.

Rules:

1. Keep it PG-13 or below(in terms of descriptions).

2. The topic can be about almost anything monster/horror related, from toys to Movies to Biology, from mythology to Video games to Cryptozoology, to music. Basically, anything discussed on this website or this website is fair game. Try to keep it on topic, please.

3. This is not a RPing forum (either IC or OOC), neither is it your blog.

4. Talking about events and holidays around/similar to halloween (e.g. Dia De Los Muertos, Samhain,Nightmare Night) is fine, as long as you keep it within a cultural and literature/media-related context.

5. No debates about halloween and religion or about "racist halloween costumes" or the like. Make a thread on general if you wanna talk about those.

In my opinion I think this category is suitable if we focus on Halloween in a cultural and literature-related context. There is no doubt that the Simpsons Halloween specials from the 1990s to date will come into the mind of many who watched the show from the late 1990s onwards.

Thanks. I think we might have to discuss why some people dislike Halloween, or stereotypical costumes or the like if it was in general, and that's not what I want this forum to be about. I just want it to be a fun discussion of monsters and creepy stuff.

I was kinda talking to everyone in a way, sorry about that.
If you don't know what I mean, I made a version of my IC flag with a bit more "Halloween flair" to it, so to speak. I wonder if anyone else is gonna do something similar, you know? Bring Halloween into NS in what little ways we can would be cool.

And like I said both Bogleech & I-Mockery have started doing Halloween stuff, so I thought, "why not NS?". If you want it to start around late september/october, just come back to the thread then, or make your own thread around then.

There are a variety of reasons, from Childhood nostalgia and fun, to taking some of the fear out of death, to interaction with people you don't normally see to a ritual of reversal.

My girlfriend is a semi-vampiric (as in style) goth. She'll walk past a shop with a halloween costume aisle and instantly want to empty my bank account

Anyway, it's a whole loada fun and you often get free sweets or even drinks if you manage to go to a party! Plus, it's the one time of the year I can dress up as a member of KISS, Immortal or even as Alice Cooper! It's all about the expression and the positive vibes that something generally regarded as depressing and grey (death and horror) can produce
