Holy shit, 700? And I thought Supernatural's 200 was bad. Though that show got boring like 5 seasons ago, if not more.

Pardon me, good sir, but did you just say that Supernatural's 200th episode was bad? You may wish to take into account that I have an authentic 1967 Chevy Impala filled to the brim with weapons of all types. I don't know know what kind of monster you are, but I will find a way to make you burn.

...Unless I'm curious.

Seriously though I was watching the Nostalgia Critic review of it and it makes it look even worse than the Honest Trailer I watched of it.

Does anyone watch History Channel's Vikings? Or NBC's About a Boy (don't you laugh, it's a great show once you start watching it)?

Vikings is 10/10 awesome. Seen every episode from the start.

"The World Wars" and "Hatsfields & McCoys" weren't too bad either. Hi(ck)story channel isn't too bad at doing "history as entertainment" when they want to.

After Earth looks like Citizen Kane when compared to what he did to the Avatar series (the cartoon one, not the blue Dances with Wolves one).

*nods* You know, I think one of the best explanations for how Supernatural is going is this: The series' main overarching storyline ended in Season 5 with the culmination of the Apocalypse. Ever since then, the producers, directors and writers are all just having fun with the universe that they've set up for themselves. And by Castiel, they make it work. I still love every minute of the show but that sentiment echoes true within me. The earliest seasons were the best.

Actually, he is usually making very good criticism and he is one of the critics that I read/watch their reviews of films.

And as much as he is funny as his character, I actually tend to prefer his non-scripted reviews, where he is just saying his honest opinion about the films.

I actually feel the exact opposite: he understands the fundamentals of screenwriting and outlines it best when a film or series falls short of what it ought to do-- even if I don't always agree with him he can at least substantiate his point.

On the flipside, I feel like the most annoying thing about him is that (as is common among all the early niche Youtube "celebrities") he seems to be under the impression that he's much, much funnier than he is. Especially the with all the shouting... augh, he does not have a shouting voice. If the "character" of Nostalgia Critic were portrayed by Samuel L. Jackson I'd think they'd be worthy of an Emmy, or a Youtubey, or whatever.

What do you think the problems with his critiques are? At the core of his criticisms are questions of themeing, character development and identity, tonal consistency, and general plot structure. Do you just disagree with his assessments of certain films, or do you think he fails to address the proper topics?

Honest Trailers and RedLetterMedia are the gods of online film critics.
I'd like to reiterate the point about Nostalgia Critic having a really obnoxious voice and overblown sense of his own popularity. A lot of his topical analysis makes sense, but I personally find him really insufferable.

Well, you disagree with me on many (If not most) films as well. I actually find his taste interesting and we have many mutual films that are our favorites.
I mean, among his favorite films I have rated 4 of them 10/10 (Eyes Wide Shut, The Dark Knight, Citizen Kane, A Clockwork Orange).

I disagree with him many times as well- but on the most part, he does manage to give interesting and to-the-point criticism of the films he watches.
