I was referring to ignorant remarks in general, I was responding to TA's post anyways, sorry if that was a little confusing. When it comes to 'criticism', there's a fine line between expressing an opinion and being downright insulting.

Well, to me it is definitely weird, almost creepy, the way you have children recite a pledge of allegiance every morning.
That's an observation and isn't meant to be insulting.

It's just our way of showing our allegiance to our country, I kinda like the Bellamy Salute myself but the Nazis screwed that upAt a signal from the Principal the pupils, in ordered ranks, hands to the side, face the Flag. Another signal is given; every pupil gives the flag the military salute -- right hand lifted, palm downward, to a line with the forehead and close to it. Standing thus, all repeat together, slowly, “I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands; one Nation indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.” At the words, “to my Flag,” the right hand is extended gracefully, palm upward, toward the Flag, and remains in this gesture till the end of the affirmation; whereupon all hands immediately drop to the side.
— From The Youth’s Companion, 65 (1892): 446–447.
Yeah we Americans are strange, but I wouldn't have it any other way, except bits of the south

Haha ^^ of course not. Everyone is a bit strange.
I don't think that it's a bad thing to recite it every now and then, but every morning seems a bit excessive to me is all.

My current school can't really make up its mind on when to recite the Pledge and when to play the anthem. When I was a freshman, it was anthem on Monday and special occasions and Pledge every other day, then sophomore year they never played it on the same days two weeks in a row, last year it didn't matter because the PA system was completely fucked, now its just the anthem daily.

That's odd. At every school I went to it was the national anthem then the pledge every single day... Even when the PA system was having problems we still recited the pledge from memory.
