It's been said over and over for years now that all of these smaller brony conventions are best left avoided in favor of the larger, established ones. Especially considering the increasing number of conventions and "pleas to the Brony fandom" that turn out to be scams. People should have seen that something was up as soon as these DashCon guys asked for an exorbitant amount of money apart from the admission fees. The key word in that article was the "gullibility" of the bronies who donated $17,000 to play in a 20 square foot ball pit situated in an otherwise empty rec center.

People aren't going to stop taking advantage of our goodwill until we start wising up to scam artists like these.
