Assuming boycotting has ever worked.

Take a look at when people tried to boycott the Olympics for similar reasons.

It's not supposed to work. It's to show I demonstrating against exposing kids to Politically Controversial things to make them think a certain view is right over the other.

"I'm fine with gays having some representation, just as long as you don't threaten heterosexual privilege too much."

Heterosexual privilege my ass, you realise heterosexuals are an overwhelming majority? I'm all for representing the gay minority, but not falsley make them out as a majority when they are not.

A bi person boycotting gay representation?
Well, there were also women who fought the 19th Amendment, so I can't be too surprised.

Because it's a kids TV show. Damn it.

You want gays watch Modern Family (Best show ever)

Kids won't grow up to be bigots if they learn that LGBT individuals are actually normal people. How shocking...

Should LGBTQ people be given representation in modern TV? Yes, they should.

Because not doing so creates in inferiority complex within the LGBTQ community. They feel that what they are is unnatural as it does not recieve the same amount of attention, in fact little to no attention, in most media. However, they should do it in a way that represents how many LGBTQ people live today. Around 10% of the world population are LGBTQ, therefor they should recieve SOME recognition in modern media.

There is little comparison. You can't pretend to speak for the entire gay community, can you.

I didn't know that teaching tolerance and acceptance was so horrible, but clearly a world filled with hatred and oppression is much better.

Yes, it is. However, kids aren't gonna be faced with political controversy when they have a friend who comes out of the closet.

In this world we stand for what we love, for what is right and for our rights. If you don't stand for either one of these you don't stand at all. You're crippled mentally. Your rights give you your life, that life gives you the right to stand for what is right for the world and one of those rights in the world is standing strong for those you love and what you love as a whole.
