Well if that's what it was trying to do, it certainly failed. However, the music wasn't the only thing, the cars were even worse. The novel itself was set in 1922 but I can see the story taking place really anytime up to 1928. However, in the movie, pretty much all of the cars were from 1930 or newer. The Buchanan's Auburn was a 1933, and Jay's Dusenburg SJ was a 35'. That's pretty flagrant considering how important his car (in the book a 1921 Rolls-Royce) is, and automobiles in general are, to the plot. They got Nick's car right, if it's any consolation.

I suppose only a car person would really notice that stuff though, but it bothered me because it destroyed what little of the Roaring Twenties aesthetic the modernized music didn't.

I assume this is pony related?

What makes made it worser worse was that Adolf Hitler shouted "'Kill the ponies!' This is your mothers mother's prayer! 'Kill the ponies!' Donot Do not let up! Donot Do not show murcey! mercy! [...] "

I'm stopping here because that last sentence was absolutely atrocious. You can do better than this. See me after class.

Yeah, its getting out of hand guys, it was fine at first but you've gone to talking about the movie in like full discussion mode.
The power of self is unlimited and ultimate, an unending wave of pure energy and being that could never be stopped, apart from time and forever ingrained into the fabrics of all being, this is the truth of Korrelian Existentialism.

You will always have your friends, with your friends, you will never be alone. There will always be a light. Friendship is Magic, its the magic that brings the most glimmering lights of hope to the darkest of worlds. Well it started off that way. Drawing it back, if anyone can get a good combination of the Mane Six + Spike in THE GREAT SPIKEY I might be able to do a drawing (eventually) like I did with Pinkie's Island (minus the terrible colors).

Believe me, I realize. An SJ does portray the 'New Money' theme rather well, but it totally screws up the setting and moves everything from 1922 to the middle of the Depression.

I did notice that. It was a Düsenburg. The only thing I didn't like was the music choice. Rap music was stupid.
