At video: The hell?
At band: Damn, this band really does change their sound around. This sounds NOTHING like the only album of theirs I've heard, the most recent one.

It's a song that starts out kinda mellow, then turns into like this crazy guitar song, goes back to being mellow, and then does that again.

I need to get to listening to some Klaus Schulze, but his playlist is kind of...intimidating. 45 out of the 64 songs I have on the playlist are over 10 minutes long. The total hours on the 64 song playlist is 22.

I could add a WHOLE bunch more music by him, too, but I slimmed it down...

Like he had a series of albums. Each album was a triple CD album, and he had...13 albums in the series. I think. Each one was 3 CD's.

Like The Residents, who have had 48 albums in 40 years, and that doesn't count things like EP''s, live albums, compilations albums....

And 29 of those is in the last 20 years alone

They seem to like to experiment with...everything. Webseries, weird digital things, video games...They probably just have way too many ideas in their heads.

Some people have a lot of ideas...Or, a lot have a lack of ideas and keep spewing out the same album 4 times a year.

The Residents seem to have every single album has a unique concept or is unique in some way.

Three new 2014 albums down.

Flotsam and Jestam - No Place for Disgrace - 2014
Rerecording of No Place for Disgrace from 1988. Pretty good album, one of the strongest for this year actually. I haven't heard the original album. 96/100.

Metsatöll - Karjajuht
Estonian folk metal. The best album so far this year. 98/100

Truckfighters - Universe
Stoner rock at its finest. 97/100.

They have like 3 albums that aren't concept albums. Out of 48.

Listened to the new Timber Timbre album. It's like folk, jazz, country, and maybe even blues had a baby with Ennio Morricone spaghetti westerns, and this is what you get. Not to mention the fact that on top of that, you have some strange lyrics. A fair amount of anti-love songs (which is apparently something they're known for), and some song that's possibly about some guy rooting for his plane to crash into the Grand Canyon. I thought the sounds and concept were pretty superb. I'd give it a 8/10

I checked from metal-archives and wikipedia, both said January 1st 1980. If you can show more official source go ahead :p

Well...I thought there was some controversy over what the official release date was, but I guess there might not be. A quick search of the web, scrolling over a couple pages of google results, and I've discovered that there are about two sources that agree with my original thinking: this website here--> http://top5000-rocketman5000.blogspot.c ... music.html , and iTunes, where I bought the album. So I guess that's why I had the date wrong...sorry. To be fair though, that album was made entirely in 1979, only the release date of 1/1/80 classifies it as an 80s album.

That's such a weird timeline. They really think that Rush and Bruce Springsteen were the cultural movers and shakers of rock music in the year of London Calling, Entertainment! and Unknown Pleasures?

Noise was literally stuck in my head about 10 mins out of the blue.
Bravo Dälek you were the first band that managed to do that to me and i didn't even hate myself for looping that.
Odd though in my mind i unintentionally put lyrics from one song into the intro from a song before it. Does that happen to anyone else? The combo just came out of blue and near the end of the looping i thought something was off.

No, but I've had some fun times with music in my head...

Like just the other day I woke up with a 70's Turkish rock song in my head...

My new headphones are already starting to not work properly :(

I wonder if it's because of all the stupid times I've gotten tangled up in it and accidentally yanked the cord around or something...

Or they're just cheap, crappy headphones.

Like, one side works and one doesn't....Except in like one spot inside the laptop speaker plug-in

I always hate it when one bud stops working and you only have one half of the music. I got a scare when mine stopped doing that a couple months ago and was about to order a new pair when I decided to restart spotify, take it out and plug it back in, and adjust the buds. Apparently that fixed it.

Mine isn't buds, though I do in fact have buds now, too (My grandparents got us both). I did have buds before, too, and one side broke and the other was fine, but those came with like...batteries...

My dad showed me this weird experimental jazz band consisting of a drummer and stand up bassist.

Though, honestly, their new album almost strangely sounds metal with only those 2 instruments.

Me and ma found notebook with step-dad's ancient attempts to be lyricist. They are pretty awful, yet I've this morbidish and amused want to compose/create music to accompany lyrics.
If I knew how to do that. :P

That sounds interesting, what's it called? I can't seem to get the link to work.

Also if anyone's into electro softrock (or something) check out The Chaingang of 1974 - Daydream Forever, the album from which I've taken my NS flag. It's probably my favorite record of the year so far.

My top scrobbled band on Last.Fm now is T he Residents, at over 200. Also my first band to hit 200 Scrobbles.

...I really do listen to too much if it took me a year and 3 months to get a band over 200 scrobbles.
