And this doesn't only apply to Twilight either. Although the rest of the Mane Six had a broad knowledge of each other's existence, with some of them even explicitly shown to have a prior connection (like Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy having gone to the same summer flight camp), many of them (like Applejack and Rarity) would probably not have been friends before the events with Nightmare Moon.

Personally I actually preferred dog-Spike to dragon-Spike. One of the only things I really liked about EQG.

I honestly wish one of the head CEO's of Hasbro were replaced by a pod person and orders the show to become a surreal mystery thriller.

Episode 4, scene 1: Twilight has a dream. She sits in a red room on a couch, restrained by many apparatuses. A leprechaun appears from behind the couch, as though he were hiding behind it, and says "I looked up the definition of 'friends' in the dictionary."

And then he does things to her.

Personally I actually preferred dog-Spike to dragon-Spike. One of the only things I really liked about EQG.

Yeah, and the only thing Twilight has to worry about dog-Spike is that he may lose his shit and begin to wildly hump Rarity's leg. Dragon-Spike on the other hand can grow up and kill a lot of people before being stopped......yeah.
