NS Music Census

Postby Magmia » Wed Sep 26, 2012 11:50 pm

(Not including a poll due to the huge diversity in musical genres)

So, I have been wondering about the musical preferences of the players on NS. I'll be collecting the results and posting them after a few days.

Please fill out these questions:

Favorite Genre/s:
Favorite Artists:
Favorite Bands/Groups:
Favorite Albums:
Anything else you wish to add:

Should be interesting :)

Favorite Genre/s: Dancehall, Reggae, Dub, Soca
Favorite Artists:
Dancehall: Mavado, Bounty Killer, Gyptian, Jah Vinci, Busy Signal, Kibaki
Reggae: Jah Cure, Buju Banton, Bob Marley, Warrior King, Messenjah Selah.
Dub and Soca: None specifically
Favorite Bands/Groups: Morgan Heritage, The Wailers, Gully Side
Favorite Albums:
Dancehall: Mr. Brooks...A Better Tomorrow (Mavado), various riddim albums
Reggae: Breaking Babylon Curse (Messenjah Selah), Catch A Fire (The Wailers), Hold The Faith (Warrior King), Mission In Progress (Morgan Heritage), The Universal Cure (Jah Cure)
Anything else: I like Hip-Hop as well, but it has to be "conscience" Hip-Hop. In other words, it has to have a possitive message in the lyrics. The same principle applies to Pop and other genres for me.

Can I summarise it in a few sentences?

I prefer the 80s new wave more than the 2010s music, although Gangnam style is not forgettable for being humorous.

we, unlike the bourgeoisie, have nothing to lose and therefore our expression will be the only honest one, our words will be the only challenging ones and our art will be the one revolutionary expression. We need new noise and new voices and new canvases to become something more than the last poets of a useless generation.
