Why not a rebellious other family of Airbenders who wanted to enforce peace by the destruction of enemies who were banished a few years before the complete genocide of Airbenders. They were focused on planing a painful vengence for both their exile and later the extermination of the fire nation became the priority task. However when Ozai was in the perfect position to be killed, Aang did what he did.

Later now they wish to covertly united the world the for second time after the time after the fire empire was formed and take there revenge on the remains of the Airbenders and their followers. And just to add salt to the wound, it turns out Vaatu instead of moving into a newborn child, moved into the body of the strongest of the dark Airbenders only to find out that he developed a multiple personality disorder both equally sadistic. So what do you think?

Okay, I'll give you credit, that's pretty fucking cool.

heh. you guys are never gonna believe this. I was searching some other forums, and someone actually said, and I quote, that "Korra is downright the best fighter of every Avatar we've seen". how hilarious is that?! Aang would have been able to beat her when he was 12.

Hello, everyone!

Okay, just saw this video on YouTube; it'll give us a discussion topic until season 3.

Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRfv5a9QFu8

The question discussed in this video is: Are Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra anime?

My opinion: No, not really. For one thing, it isn't animated in Japan, so it's not anime by American standards (well, season 2 of Korra was animated by a Japanese studio, but moving on). Second, while TLA/LoK have plenty of Asian influences, the style (in terms of animation) makes it different from traditional anime programs. Third, and this is more a personal superficial reason, while other anime shows have never interested me, TLA/Lok has. Therefore, in my own mind, the Avatar franchise is distinctly not anime.

What do you guys think?

Most people, and TvTropes, would call A:TLA and LoK "western animation", and I agree with that.
Assuming if you define Anime as purely Japanese.

This feels like a really boring discussion now. I am slightly surprised by the hate towards Korra, but she kind of deserves it. And if they make another film keep M. Night Sham away from them!! To laugh about them go to youtube and search Honest Trailers ATLA

I realized why Korra's Avatar State was so weak! korra was not spiritually attuned, and had not unlocked her chakras. she did this while meditating in the giant tree, so now her avatar state should be more powerful!

I'm sure it'll be more powerful. Not like she lost 10,000 years of experience that make it super strong or anything...

oh, right, that. nevermind. I do hope she reconnects with her past lifes, though. We never got to see Aang's spirit manifest through him like Roku and Kyoshi did with Aang.

Well, he started as a comic relief duo along with Bolin, continued as an eccentric megalomaniac businessman, tricked as into believing him an anti-hero/villain and ended up again as a comic relief.

This guy is awesome. For a non-bender that is.
