I really don't understand why Nintendo put IVs in the games. Nature isn't too bad, and EVs are actually pretty useful, at least as of gen 6, with the open, accessible system. Even a casual player with no interest in the weird complexities of the competitive world could use them to create a build they like. But IVs are just a huge bar to an already difficult to get into competitive scene, and add absolutely nothing to the single player experience.

Is it really that difficult to breed good IVs? There are sites that will literally just give away breeding Pokemon with perfect IVs and breeding isn't that complicated.

It's just so boring. Breeding all these Pokemon. How does anyone find this fun?

I did fall in love with Glaceon when it was released though, too. Of the original three eeveelutions, Jolteon.

It was probably in order to stabilise the servers.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's returned in a few months time. They probably have to do a bunch of fixes for the game that was never intended to deal with millions of people using it at once.

With the lack of any public announcements by them they've made their fanbase on reddit go into a cycle of angry shitposting.

The tracking was useless anyway but getting rid of the battery saver really ticked me off. Maybe they'll roll out an item that saves your battery for 30 minutes for the agreeable price of 1000000 coins (or one slowpoke tail).

Of the originals I always liked Vaporeon, then both Espeon and Umbreon I really liked in Gen 2, though I think more often than not I used to go for Umbreon, mostly because I played a lot under the covers at night so my parents couldn't see the light
Glaceon and Leafeon were just meh. Probably because I never got around to trying to get one of them in the generation they came out (4?).
At that point I was just like "ah, I see where they're going with this. One for each type, right?".
Then later I heard there was a fairy one and just gave up interest.

In the same vein they have a store that players use and Niantic profits massively from, I don't see why "free to play" devalues the annoyance of some players for a massively hobbled game feature and radio silence on the issue?

I bought a new phone to play it (I had been planning to get a new phone anyways) but I welcome this change. Now people have to actually do something instead of just sitting and waiting for pokemons to pop up.
