I've been listening to djent/prog metalcore and melodic hardcore. Djent being bands like Volumes, Structures, The Contortionist, Born Of Osiris, etc., and melodic hardcore being bands like The Ghost Inside, Hundredth, Close Your Eyes, City Lights, etc. Genericore just doesn't cut it for me anymore, though Underoath will forever be my favorite band.

And bad metal is really bad.

Black metal ist krieg.

lulz, no. Black metal is the best. It towers above the other genres of metal. Prog, doom, and crappy genres don't even deserve to be called metal compared with black metal.

Darkthrone, Immoral, Mayhem (the big 3), Satanic Warmaster, Horna. Those 5 bands are better than all the other bands listed in this thread combined. So take it.
