Hm, Snails seems to be a pretty gifted TK user. Interesting that a colt beat out a bunch of adult ponies.

Well, she is my favourite pony afterall, and Luna's had several episodes centered around her by now, and Celestia's had none. It would only be fair to give her one, also she could use the screen time, we barely see her now that Twilight's nolonger her student.

that's what I exactly expected from Changeling episode

that Changelings were actually always there, enjoying a bit of pony life without Chryssi's approval.

I have to admit. First episode I couldn't finish due to reasons not related to vicarious embarrassment.

I liked it. Pinkie and Snails were funny and the moral was good. 7/10

Also... this week's episode has been leaked...

Edit: Actually, no. It just aired in Poland before the US...

Does that also mean that it was entirely dubbed in Polish? Noble as that language is, it won't help the majority of bronies and pegasisters to understand what the hell is going on in that episode. Oh well, can't win them all.

The episode was pretty good, while some people might be annoyed with the Crusaders for "attempting the impossible" Theres enough cases of the seemingly impossible being achieved in our own world without magic that it was worth a shot at the least. One more thing though. *Uses uncles finger strike on the show writers* YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO SAY PALEONTOLOGY NOT ARCHAEOLOGY! ARCHAEOLOGY is for peoples and civilizations! Paleontology is the study of long gone fossils and plan___ unless the "animal" she dug up was as sapient as the ponies of Equestria and their civilzation was wiped out *facepalms* archaeology may have been the right term after all, curse the lands magic for making me not sure...

Yes, the CMC are the cutie mark experts, but I really didn't think that anypony over 12 would see them that way.

Alright, So Gabby's sort of like Thorax, a person of a different species than a pony that doesn't quite fit in, who has a desire for friendship. What I'm a little confused about this this: Changelings have been marginalized from pony society, but we know that griffons and ponies do interact on the same level with them (at least in Cloudsdale). We would think that they actually have (less biased) knowledge of pony society. Was Gilda at flight camp an experimental novelty? Or Gustav le Grand on the Friendship Express little more than a diplomatic publicity stunt? Gabby seems to be coming in without a single iota of knowledge of pony culture; otherwise she might have been more reserved about getting a cutie mark...

Or at least, she's a optimist. That's why she also faked it. But at least, she understands that her purpose is helping others, and that the point of the cutie mark is not necessarily what someone is good at, it is what gives her meaning.

So wait, if Gabby did drop by Twilight's, Twilight didn't notice the mark?

Y'know, even though Gabby didn't get a mark, we still haven't established it's outright impossible... right? Nopony went into the detail of the physiological differences between griffins and ponies that make it so, and Twilight didn't retain her skepticism when she read the letter. In addition, she said "the first time in recorded history," which may as well imply that there is fossil evidence that griffins can get cutie marks (and I'd kind of hope that Twilight is the pony that doesn't just drop fixed phrases without consciousness of their meaning in context).

And yet another thing...RD and Pinkie's visit to Griffonstone happened a season ago, and the episode implies that it has been a relatively short time since then, since I doubt a competent mail carrier such as her would take over a year to deliver a letter. (And we got to wonder why the CMC didn't take the easy way out and say that delivering the mail was her purpose in life.) But that's Equestrian time warping for you.

So then the next question is: What's going on with the Friendship Summit in Griffonstone that we heard about in "Stranger than Fan Fiction?" I was kind of hoping that this would have been the episode explicating it. I'm wondering if this episode is actually out of chronological order, and Gabby's spearheading it right now. (And actually, since this is the episode that has jumped the production order in airing date, it might as well be the case.)

Perhaps keeping the details of comparative pony and griffin physiology vague and tentative was for the best. When I first heard about the possibility of griffins getting cutie marks, I worried that the episode would have to go into some very sensitive areas about who counts as a "Equestrian" and the ability to integrate into pony society, at least if cutie marks have at least something to do with the friendship that everypony shares and thus the stability and order of Equestria, and all sorts of political live wires that a kids show shouldn't be getting near. And that may as well be for another episode, and at this point, I'm still worried that such an episode would go spectacularly wrong. And maybe, that's why I shouldn't be writing for the show.

But of course, the show has not yet implied that ponies see themselves as exceptional per se because of their connection to magic, their ability to do magic, and pretty much manipulate the world. The prejudices that they have displayed appear unrelated to their own unique attributes. So perhaps my worries are unfounded.

In all, I kind of liked this. Gabby is kind of a character that we expect to really be annoyed by, but we perfectly understand where she's coming from, and that makes her attributes tolerable if not attractive. It deftly avoided the political implications I had been worried about and in the process clarified again that the cutie mark is a symbol and not a control.
I’m mostly here for... something to do, I suppose.

Well Linkara of Atop the Fourth Wall has finally done a review of an MLP comic, the much "beloved" Everfree Forest and Deer arc.

I liked it. The subject of the episode was something I've been thinking about. Gabby was likable, if not somewhat annoying, and I love the story, the song, and the moral. 8.5/10

Just watched rest of S5 and up to midway S6 on netflix.
Yay Daring Doo episode. Like, on overall rankings of ponies, i think she's top 5, i just love her XD
Also, liking Rarity alot more, to the point where its difficult to make a ranking list because most of them are damn near identical scores. Yay Rarity! :D

Anyway, how many S6 episodes are there, and where can finds in at least 720p :P
