It's been so long that I've to get my bearings and remind myself how to play and my usual opening moves. I completely forgot to start an election on day one of all things. And it's been an awkward game so far.

First off, here's the simple silliness that's going on in Russia.

Secondly . . . I don't recall the timeline of when the AI is supposed to form the NGF, but I feel like it's definitely not this deep into the game. It's been so long that even Hannover got a brief opportunity as a Great Power. Anyway, I think something went "wrong" with the Schleswig-Holstein question. A choice was made that wasn't normal, things happened and Denmark ended up with control of the Schleswig half. Prussia and the UK have been fighting each other ruthlessly for control of Denmark in the influence wars and have been completely unable to make gains against each other. As much of a potential threat the NGF is a threat to me, I'm tempted to go into Denmark myself and kick out the UK just to make the game proceed as is nice and proper.

And lastly, I don't remember why Victoria 2 screenshots don't work on Imgur, but it works on this site, so whatever.

Usually the AI forms the NGF between 1860-1880. I'd recommend taking the opportunity to become "friends" with one of the two nation (I'd recommend the NGF as allowing them to form Germany isn't something you want to do. Find anyway you can to destroy their power base before puppeting them. Then you can use them to destroy Austria and keep your power on the continent.

I prefer robots when I'm exploiting cheap labour. At least slaves can also enjoy the good life when they don't need anyone to empty their septic tanks for them, and robots don't complain!

Though I'd feel that I'd get too into it if I ever enslaved anyone in Stellaris, and would start quoting Squidward from SpongeBob SquarePants:
