At this point, we've pretty much proven that not only can evolution happen, it pretty much must happen since it's basically impossible to prevent it from happening.

i've seen this page. It's bullshit. It presumes an honest portrayal of certain technological aspects from the EU which basically amounts to "sure, their weapons have a higher energy output then the sun, why the fuck not?" while handwaving certain major technological advances that star trek universe has, namely replicators, transporters, and cloaking. The issue is, people forget, Star Trek universe is generally told through the perspective of a peaceful, diplomatic government, where as Start Wars is an imperalisitic, military one.
the flagship of star fleet isn't a hulking military vessle precisely BECAUSE it's the flag ship, and is meant to explore, interact, and negotiate with other species. Not obliterate them.
If you want to see what the star trek universe is capable of militarily, you have to extrapolate existing technology used in a combat situation. And I contend that a cloaked ship using tactical transporters and zero point energy quantum torpedos can pretty much fuck with whatever they threw at it. And mass produced to boot, because of replicator technology.

True, though the topics actually listed are generally beaten in one thread.
40k based purely on the numbers, unless someone activates a halo ring, in which case, everybody's dead.
