Rebooting directly from the OP is taking their work and ideas, which isn't okay. For instance, if somebody OPed a Star Wars RP set on a planet they created or using new alien races they came up with, that's their work that you really shouldn't be using in your RP without their permission; but nothing says you can't do a new Star Wars RP minus those elements.

What if you credit their work?

Why is that not considered fair use by the site. There is no commercial gain, and it can in a very broad sense be seen as educational, as while the site itself is for a commercial entity (max's book). There are aspects of role play that are educational in natuel, from learning how to write a good story, to learning proper english and grammer.
lf the issue were "ownership" any star wars RP, shouldn't be allowed as star wars is now the intellectual property of Disney corp, and I am fairpy sure the posters are not paying Disney Corp.any royalties.
I would think requiring a credit, would be fair.

Now imagine that someone else Copy/Pasted your Opening post, and completely disregarded anything you say against it. Now, picture your reaction when you ask Moderation to make them stop using your content when you have repeatedly told them to stop using it and they refuse to come to your aid.

First off that is not the topic, the topic is abandoned OP's that are in use.
Even your arguement. The answer is, stop being a whiney bitch and Get over it. There is no copyright. Did Einstein bitch everytime someone use. E=MC2? I dont think so. Besides Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
maybe you wrote a great RP, but suck as a thread owner, why should others suffer because the OP of the RP is poor at running it.
Copyright protection I understand, but what we are talking about is a collaborative version of fan fiction, each piece of writing by every poster, changes and transforms the original work into something different from the original. The request being made is the ability to continue it. Either in the current or a new thread.
So in either case, I would think it should be allowable. Of course this is all max's decision as site owner, but this kind of discussion is a topic that interests me
