Mods are really doing (some) good work here. It's not their fault that NS is pg-13.

Yeah, and its not their fault that ns has over-restrictive scripting rules. Or a nonsensical flag policy. Or any other such crap.

They still enforce it though.

So why not start your own site?

At the very least please stop whining about his site's policies. Your posts are becoming tedious and repetitive.

The rules of this site are clearly posted and widely known. If you don't Ike them then perhaps it is not the site for you.

There's the unintentional side effect of everyone knowing exactly who's who, including myself. This means we're likely going to be rejected from future RPs on the basis of being on this list when it happened, kicked out of existing ones for being involved with this, or people not wishing to join an RP run by one of the players on said list because 'they're a dirty degenerate pervert'.

I get trying to control all the questions about people being deleted, but I don't think much thought went into the side effects of doing it this way.

If people didn't want to be involved in this kind of mess, they shouldn't have been doing this in the first place.

The site rules are pretty blunt about it. Nobody is gloating about this. When the banhammer falls, it falls on everyone. I lost at least one member of my RPing group that, while she wasn't exactly the finest writer at times, was still someone I looked forward to having around.

Even if recent events do cast the prior activities of the listed users in a different light, I highly doubt the mods posted the names just to slander people and 'ave a giggle at the lollies or whatever.

Exactly.

If you read the post, it's clear that these people already had a prior track record, as well as doing this stuff EXCESSIVELY.

But non PG-13 interactions in a supposedly private space? And what kind of track record? Besides, having a high libido is not a crime if it's done in a supposedly private space.

I'm still waiting for reasons why the moderation team started to dig this dirty laundry up in the first place and also want to know what those prior records engender.

Arkadacia is right. No other site moderation slanders players on public forum...It'd be better if you could ask for your name to get taken off the list. Totally humiliating.
Stop giving misogynistic abusers a platform. Anyone who sides with Tiktok Star Andrew Tate even 1% of what he says will be treated as enemy who should be shamed out of society. Impressions+Views+Videowatches=$. Nothing he says is new or revolutionary. I don't care if he said "some good stuff", it's still bad because: the more you watch him, the more ad revenue MONEY and algorithm BOOSTS you're giving him to traffick victims. And don't say the victim lied, a young man stupidly told me that the victim confessed to lying, I told em to link me proof, articles or the Audio of her confession, he googled and found 0 proof 0 articles, and he realized he was spreading fake rumors he heard and BELIEVED without fact-check. Don't brand victims as liars without GOOGLING. Debated here

As I said earlier in this, NationStates is NOT the place to be posting out this kind of garbage. It's clearly against the rules so the people involved in such activities really shouldn't be surprised that they're getting their nations deleted, especially if they have a prior track record.

If you don't like the rules and are unable to follow them, then you really should find some other place to play. Don't ruin NationStates for the rest of us who do follow the rules.

If anyone contemplates suicide because of a webforum, I think it's time to take a step back and realize that it's all just some text on a screen.

Maybe, but this is more than that, these are reputations and friendships we're talking about here. Having your name on that shitlist pretty much means you're dead to most of the community.

I'm acutely aware of that, you don't need to ram it down people's throats. My problem isn't with the ruling itself, it's fair and makes sense. Again, it's the matter in which the revealing of it was handled.

Sorry, did you not notice the long string of 'oh i told you so' scattered throughout this thread and TET? Or people saying these sorts of people don't belong on this site and we're glad they're gone? Pardon me if I find that just a tad gloaty.

I don't think the slander or what have you was intentional, I'm just saying that it should've been thought of a bit more for those of us who haven't been put on DOS-status. I've had to take a sabbatical from a fairly major RP I participate in to do damage control. I get that you might not care as much because this doesn't affect you, but as someone who tries to run a decent, non-idiotic F7 thread, I'm already seeing people talking shit about F7ers as a bunch of dirty smutty heathens on a scale that I haven't seen since the Wombat was around.

No. TG's are not necessarily private (as the mods can still see them).

Even still, there are explicit rules against this garbage that apply to both the forums and telegrams.

The key words are "thought to be" in this statement. "I didn't know this wasn't allowed" is not an excuse for breaking site rules. Maybe an explanation, but not an excuse.

The mods occasionally search telegrams for infractions of the rules, and in this case, the people on that list were breaking the rules.

It doesn't matter if only a few people knew about this. They were still breaking the site rules.

Evidently I do need to ram it down people's throats, because I've been seeing the same "woe-is-me" nonsense since this announcement was made.

Telegrams are not private. This has been an established fact for years. Don't put shit in telegrams you wouldn't put in the forums, sexual or otherwise. Everyone and their grandma already did this song and dance routine back when people were super shocked the mods could check their TGs.

The Mods, insofar as I can see, stumbled into this mess. They've done exactly what they've always done when a major incident like this occurs.

I mean, this is basically Predator Bust II: Electric Boogaloo, but instead of a bunch of jimmie-rustled raiders, a good chunk of long-time players got the bullet.

People would talk shit if you posted the formula for Cold Fusion on F7. This is nothing new.

No, it's not. It is very clear that a PG-13 rule exists for the entire site, and those that break it can be deleted.

This was a pretty grievous infraction of the site rules, especially considering all of the...weird fetishes that were involved.

I don't feel like making people's personal interests public, especially when they were expressed through a private medium, is the right thing to do. Just because these people have done something wrong doesn't mean that you're supposed to detail their fetishes and sexual activities.

Also, although I'm not sure why private conversations are subject to PG-13 rules, the possibility of going to another site to do it is so accessible that it doesn't even matter.
