A few people have reported this -- on which browser & OS? Could somebody post a pic of what you're seeing? The posts look quite clearly separated to me.

Windows Vista, Firefox 3.0.10:

Actually, they are separated, but I have to agree that we may need to put black lines to clearly delineate posts. The white and the light gray sometimes seems to dissolve into one blur. ;)

And yeah, no scrollbar with me, but as with Tseaby, I have a big space between the poster info and the post content (My screen resolution is a widescreen 1280x800)... not that I have a problem with it, though ;)

That is what i was thinking myself. There could be a bold, dark, somewhat thick, line between the posts or the background color could be a contrasting color to the color of the posts.

Is there a way to import my (unfortunately extensive) "ignore" list from Jolt? I wish it were more refreshing being reminded why certain posters were on it

This is implemented now. Also [nation] and [region] tags.

Hmm, should really allow [nation] and [region] tags in Regional Message Board posts and TGs as well.

Invisibility?

Postby SoWiBi » Sun May 10, 2009 10:18 am

I most heartily concur with the pleas for
  • multi-quoting (if there's a way to do it manually / in some other way than new-tab-opening a reply to every individual post only to copy-paste them all into one, please tell a tech n00b like me!)
  • mouse-over text for thread titles
  • links to quoted posts
  • changing the "submit" and "save" buttons' positions around

I'd also like to bring my suggestion / humble request for an "invisibility" / "ninja posting" option into this thread as well.

While on the subject of improving this wonderful new feature, might I suggest something along the lines of ....

[fullnation=unibot] = The Government Monopoly of Unibot

It would greatly save space for WFE writers, and keep the nation's pretitles always up to date for WFE's.

For those rewriting their WFE's right now, and finding this "The Government Monopoly of Unibot" awkward looking, I'd recommend encompassing the entire thing with "[color=#008000]" which makes it look less awkward at least.

Oh yeah. What was I thinking? OK, [nation] tags now display your nation's full name and flag in all its glory. Also basic NSCode tags now work in telegrams and Regional Message Board posts.

Edit: By basic, I mean bold, italic, and underline, plus nation and region tags. Color & link tags are not permitted in TG/RMB posts.

The one feature I miss from jolt is the [indent] tag. If it weren't for the lack of that, I'd be moving all my factbook stuff here so I can take advantage of tables.

When I see a spoiler tag that I've never touched before, it says "Show". When I click on it, the spoiled text is revealed, and the button changes to "Hide". If I click that, it becomes "Show Spoiler" (with the word "Spoiler" not having been there before). Not sure if this is on purpose or anything, but if anything I think it would make more sense to have "Spoiler" display from the get-go rather than the other way around.

Actually, the blocktext tag does pretty much the same thing, though it took some finangling to make it work XD

WHEE! Indents!

That's probably due to some quirk in the tag's code. I'll poke around with it and see if I can find what's outta whack with it :)
EDIT: Whoops, there it is, should be working properly now!

Oh Bravo. My Region's WFE now looks exquisite - Shall I be the first to adspam the pacific with formated text?

This is a startling contribution and innovation to the game. Bravo. :)

I can only make blocktext have one level of indent, and I need more, more!

This should be the first level

[Blocktext]Second level
[/Blocktext]

The reason I would like it is so I can convert my military factbook, which you can find here. The nested indents make it readable.

This is the code I use on my board for indention.

BBCode Usage
Code: Select all
[tab]{NUMBER}[/tab]

HTML Replacement
Code: Select all
<span style="margin-left: {NUMBER}px;"></span>

Help Line
Code: Select all
Enter a number for the margin measured in pixels. 35 is a normal indent.

Smilies: can we get another set instead of those?

Otherwise, kudos.

I like the one quote limit, personally, better than whatever it is now. We don't really need to review three quotes...just the reply to a specific quote always seemed to work fine. Clogs up the tubes!

Has anybody thought of a donation scheme? That is, members can voluntarily donate in order to pay for an increase in bandwidth/space, et cetera? I know of several people (including myself) that would donate.

Maybe that way we can avoid the problems of the original forums.

Maybe we should limit the number of smilies or images you can put in a post as well?
