I have an Idea.

Postby Climalite » Sat May 28, 2016 11:52 am

I have an idea for nationstates. First I would like to say that this is just a suggestion and I would appreciate it if the Nationstates team looks into it.
My idea is could we have more of the Nationstates events like the zombie apocalypse and etc.
I'm not saying we have tons and tons of events but it would be nice if the game could be more entertaining than answering issues, communicating, and writing fact books.
Maybe an idea is like there is a massive disease threatening humanity, planet of the apes, etc.
Thanks for the Time!

Yes. I agree with this.

Technical is a slow moving forum. Today is also a US holiday, which affects the availability of some staff members.

Admins may or may not respond to threads in Technical, depending on a variety of factors.

I'd be against this.

The special events are great largely because they are few and far between. If there was an ongoing ice age (say), that became part of the regular functioning of the site, then it would cease to be special. Furthermore, it would distract from the core experience (politics), and be yet another thing for the overworked staff to deal with.

I would like to add to this that many of the events are part of the annual April Fool's Day tradition, (or Halloween for the Zombie Ones) which is part of what makes them special, and further I believe that most of the special events probably take a large amount of time to code, along with coming close (I think, don't quote me) to crashing the servers and most of the time slowing them down greatly.

Third this, agree completely.

Admins have a big load of massive projects on their plate, (I remember a notification revamp, possible forum one, R/D summit, more issue things etc. - and something about changing languages or something for special characters) along with even more bug fixes and random easy fixes that always seem to pop up all the time, which all compete for time from RL (yes, admins aren't on NS 24/7, they've got lives too).
As always, I'm representing myself.
