Nation Creation Name

When I try and create a nation with two or more punctuation marks, like --(username) or (username)--, it says it's not allowed. But I always see nations that have two or more punctuation marks in a row, like for example this nation has it to. Was it previously allowed or something?

EDIT: Oops, sorry, accidentally posted this in Gameplay instead of Technical. Can a mod move it?

When you say 'not allowed' what do you mean? Does it tell you you can't do that, or that the name is already taken?

I get this error when I post a username with two hyphens on it, for example --united states

Your nation name contains two or more punctuation marks in a row. Please correct this before continuing.

Right, I'd assume that it's because things have been changed, but you'll probably want to wait on an official response.

Yep, was allowed before, not anymore. That's not how punctuation is supposed to be used.
