Problem with Telegrams

Postby The Southern Dictators » Tue Feb 02, 2010 1:24 pm

I have a problem, I like to telegram a lot. Once in a while I will "mark" some telegrams, and then click on "Delete Marked Telegrams". Then, when I click on "Telegrams" later on, almost ALL of my telegrams get deleted. Right now, for some reason, only one was saved. Help meh.

There is a checkbox at the top that marks ALL telegrams. If you hit that on accident and then click delete marked tgs, it will delete them all. Except those that are saved, I think. Could that possibly be what happened?

Say I have 20 telegrams. I click the the little check boxes that are next to 10 telegrams. I click the "Delete marked telegrams" button. Now, since I only marked 10 telegrams, only 10 should be remaining. That doesn't happen, either they will ALL be deleted, or only 3 or 4 will be saved. The damn Mods don't help -.- I KNOW which Mod told me to post this. I'm after you.

I've had similar problems in the past myself. When I was in the process of recruiting support for the NSWA ULC proposal a month or so ago, I was receiving a number of telegrams. I made the mistake of trying to delete TGs before I had saved new ones, and some of the ones that I had wanted to save got deleted, even though I hadn't checked that particular box. (and, of course, some of those that I had wanted to delete had remained in my Inbox) However, my previously saved TGs were all still in my Inbox. As such, my lesson from that occasion is to *save* whatever TGs I don't want to delete before deleting multiple TGs.

My guess is that there's some minor glitch in the TG system, but if VIolet and/or Pyth are working on revamping the TG system (which it sounds like they possibly are), I'm not sure that it's worth having them refocus their efforts on the old TG system, when I'd rather have the new system sooner. Your mileage may vary. *shrugs*

I have no idea what the problem is.
Now the stars they are all angled wrong,
And the sun and the moon refuse to burn.
But I remember a message,
In a demon's hand:
"Dread the passage of Jesus, for he does not return."

Definitely not working on it. I did read the post, then chalked it up to some combination of PEBKAC and "the author's fault" and promptly forgot about it. Well, time for dinner.

Yours,

Then why couldn't the Mod who told me to post this, just tell me that ?
Or why couldn't I get a post from a Mod saying that, LAST MONTH ?!?
