NS Forums = Slow loading during the day

Hello and good morning Technical staff of NS, the reason of this is to inform that our browser (Me and another 25 nations of the community) are having troubles regarding posting or clicking in a new page of the forum due to a Error 503, down for maintenance or traffic, and we would like some person of the technical staff to explain what's happening, if there's a DoS attack or another issue who limitates us to play NS normally in the forums.

While I know we are not supposed to do the me too, thing, I would also like to add that the forums when they do load are also incredibly slow. I am not sure if it is a DoS attack again though, but I am not very knowledgeable on that area of expertise. Once there is knowledge of another DoS will we be informed of such once more ?

Server stats point towards the forums' Apache services, and rebooting/repairing that is a system administration task. The problem with System Administrative tasks is that it takes a sysadmin to resolve them. Ballo is a coding admin, not a sysadmin. Salusa and Pyth are mostly inactive lately, and [violet] appears to have taken the weekend off. We'll know when one of them has time to investigate.

Keep your panties on. It's just forums for an internet game, not hospital life support systems failing.

SO I have been noticing lately that the Forums have been loading at a speed that not even molasses could produce during the day.

Its 3 am, and they are loading fine, but at 4, it seems even snails could beat it in a race.

I am sure that is not a bug with NS++, because Gameside works as well. Anyone else having this?

I have not gotten a 503 error, but then again, I never let it finish loading.

Just an FYI that I merged together both threads that were talking about the slowness of the forum server since it didn't seem like there was much of a point in having 2 topics about the same thing on the front page of tech.

Hopefully we'll get a sysadmin checking in, in the near future, to fix things ... *fingers crossed*

With all due respect, it's not really necessary for the sysadmin to tell you that she uploaded a patch for burfugle.exe and rebooted apache in order for you to continue to enjoy using the site. Not that that happened - admin "did something", problem solved. Ballo's answer is equally accurate.

if the sysadmin loaded a patch on the server, great, its a simple answer to a simple question.
if she tweaked a setting, its lovely maybe i have an apache server running and what the admin did can be a learning experience for your site members.

generally on a site that prides itself on openness, it tries to be open. (shrug).
