Login Issues

On my currently active account, Imperializt Russia, I'm experiencing login issues.
I noticed it at about 5pm GMT (1hr ago) when I logged back into NS after being out. It refused my password four times, which was typed carefully for three of those because of the apparent error. I had no issues logging into this account.
When it accepted me onto the Imperializt account, the gameside sidebar seemed to take quite a while to load.

About ten minutes ago I went to my region's RMB to post a message, and then jumped back to the forum. I had been mysteriously logged out again, and it was refusing my password again. No issues logging into this account.

Thank god! I just had the same problem right now! It refused me 4 or 5 times, before randomly logging me in (It logged me out while viewing a topic)

It happened to me, too - and, so as not to be just another "+1" post, I'll mention I remember having this log-in issue briefly during one of the previous "special events".

I just looked at the server stats, and load rates in ALL categories anywhere from double normal traffic to 100 times normal traffic due to the ByteCoin program. I can't address specifics about login issues, but we're FAR above normal usage levels today. Occasional bobbles don't particularly surprise or concern me.

Ditto, Nationstates is also taking a while to load. Not to mention it saying I have a new telegram, when I just checked my telegrams. It's probably the new Bytecoin feature, they're evil I tell you!

Two questions:

1. If the gameside is the one where everyone is buying and selling and creating the lag, why is the forum the one logging us out more?
2. Why are these lag spikes, and not constant lag? As far as I know, the number of logged-in players doesn't change like that... does it?

The bi-annual server stress-testing (wasn't here last April, was here last Halloween) does seem to do something. I'd like to say that I haven't added to this (such as trying a reload when a blank or non-CSSed page comes onto the browser) but I'd be lying. However, I try to let it wait out a minute or two, then try again.

(It also asked me for a password when it should have auto-logged in, betwixt main NS and forum NS, and then rejected my manually-entered password (although that could have been a typo at my end), but that's just a fall-out issue, I'm sure.)

Because of the sidebar? That's a gameside element, even when accessing the forums.

Related to this I believe: It takes forever to access the mobile site. Correct login but forever to load. Having same forum access issues both on PC and mobile. iOS7.1 for the mobile issue.

I'm also having the same problem. For some reason, once I log in, I only stay logged in for a few minutes, and then I get logged out again.

You know, for me, I only get logged out when I switch to a gameside page. I click on my telegrams page, come back, and I'm logged out of the forum.

I suspect the forum logouts are being triggered by the gameside being hammered so hard, so the forum server is still waiting for the game to tell it "Hey! So-and-so is logged in!" and the message isn't reliably getting through because the forum is already loading up while the game server is still doing its Slowbro impression.

I'm getting so many bugs, including login, that I'm beginning to think this is an April fools of its own.

Random logouts, random loguts with the sidebar, random switches between main and puppet nations.

I'm having the same problems. This morning I had to enter my password several times (running at 4G on a smartphone). There are some serious lag issues still. It's rather frustrating. My husfiend can't even get NS to load at the moment.
