When can we expect such maintenance to occur?

Dear Eluvatar
Whenever I try to found my regional newspaper for my region "United Burandan Nations" it displays red text beside the option saying "you do not have authority". I am the founder and WA delegate for my region and have been for 4 days.

At this point I'm wondering why you all still have NS++ enabled. Wouldn't it be easier to just disable it instead of complaining about broken features for the upteenth time? What's the point in using a broken browser extension? And who knows, maybe if everyone stops downloading and using it it might poke the developer(s) into action.

Puppet list still works, and not putting in a password for any given one of my 100+ puppets when I want to switch is still worth it, even if the rest of the extension is a shadow of it's former self.

Same reasons, I seriously don't want to manually keep track of puppets after operations - that is why I use NS++.

For some reason, whenever I try to found a puppet with NS++, if says the nation name is already taken, even though after searching NS++ for it, its not. This bug has happened multiple times since about 5 days ago. Suggestions?

Aye, it's been happening to me as well. It won't fix itself either, so we'll just have to wait for Eluvatar to get back to maintenance.

You know, at this point Elu, I don't think anybody even cares about any new changes being made at any point- we just want even half of the existing content to actually work reliably. Or work at all, in many cases.

Granted, that might not be the case anymore, considering this was from April 28th, and your last in this thread was from May 6th, about two months ago. And if fixing all the other functions isn't going to ever actually happen, can you at least strip out the broken stuff that's now just cluttering the screen and leave this as what it basically is these days- an rmb flipping puppet list? Sorry if that was a little harsh, it's just been absolutely painful to see this degrade from the leading Ns extension with so much functionality down to a barely functional program, with little to no input or even acknowledgement from the one In charge now - you.

Why would it? It's a browser extension, not a NS feature, and I don't know of any mobile browser that supports extensions. Of course, I could be completely wrong.

Now when trying to found new puppets with NS++, I get the message that nation already exists, yet when founding the nation the "old fashioned" way, it works fine.

I'd say add it too a bug report, but at this point practically the whole thing is a bug report.

So is NationStates making no move to completely take over the extension? I know there were concerns earlier about slow updates or something on those lines, but having the site and its staff oversee this project, I feel, would provide the much needed support and stability to NS++.

Eluvatar, like all the Mods, Admins and Techies of NationStates, is a volunteer. RL does trump NS and perhaps Eluvatar got busy as hell in RL. We all do at times.

If he was really that busy, why would he be logging in regularly? And if he has only enough time to do that, why couldn't he take a few extra minutes and give us something...anything...about the future of NS++ and/or why he's completely failed to maintain it for a while now?

Again, he may be busy. Sometimes people are only able to log on for a bit.

Sometimes people log in just to make sure that their nation doesn't expire and/or to answer issues. Having a fit over it won't solve anything.

I've not having a fit. In fact, I don't care much at all whether or not he ever comes back. I'm not happy that he's left NS++ to fall into disrepair, but maybe that's not intentional. At any rate, I've got no horse in this race, so my anger is limited.

I am having issues with my NS++ extension. I used to have google chrome, then ended up deleting it. I have just reinstalled it after about 4-5 months. I went to add NS++ again, however it said I have already, but none of the features work?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated!

I believe someone else has had this issue as well: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=269464&start=2475#p24976122 it's probably some sort of bug. Unless someone starts fixing NS++, it's unlikely that you're going to be able to use the extension again once you uninstall the old version.
