Oy, Afforess. I was logging into one of my puppets to check the RMB, and I saw this.

That... that doesn't look right.

This is the Ankh Mauta RMB, if you're curious. That... that doesn't look right.

I would like to confirm that this is not a one-time glitch. Each time I loaded that RMB, I encountered the same problem.

I can't see it. Do you mean I need to go to my nation page, put my mouse on "puppets" and then hover over their names? Or do you mean something else?

Not quite, here is how to use it: Image

I'm not sure, but I think the update may have messed up some text settings. At least on the Democratic Socialist Assembly's RMB accents don't work anymore. Is that a bug or are we just crazy and they never worked before? I think that would be a good thing to put in the next update.

Can you show me a screenshot of what you are describing?

What sort of information does the puppet switcher send you? Does it send my passwords? The add-on generated a telegram whose text I've forgotten. What exactly was the purpose of that?

Also, does your add-on support the Dark theme which I use? Some things just don't look right, like the settings page (which is white) or the telegrams (which look like this).

EDIT: Oh, and another bug would be that certain flags (such as square flags) appear to be stretched.

No. It does not send me any information. The only settings that are backed up are your issue selections and region settings. I can not see passwords. This is a screenshot of what is visible to me:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/498 ... adonia.png

In addition, I plan on adding an option to disallow backups/syncing in the next release.

It is read by the extension and proves that you own the nation. This is the best way to prove ownership of a nation without having to ask for your login details.

It should, I'll look into making sure those are fixed. Thanks for the report.

One more thing. I noticed that somewhere near the middle of the thread you were debating with the mods on how you could advertise the existence of this add-on. I may have an idea in this regard.

You could include some automatic text in the quoting feature that says something along the lines of "Quoted using this add-on" and include a link to this thread.

For the RMB? Eh, as a user I would not be thrilled if that shows up every few posts.

Question: Why does it load "/page=world" so often? Every page seems to tack on an extra call for "/page=world" (including the World page).

Right now that's the code to refresh the left sidebar panel (is there a better page, perhaps with only the panel I can hit)? It should use the same refresh logic as the rest of the pages, in that it refreshes every few seconds if the user is active, every 2.5 min if the page is just up (but no user activity) and every 5 min if the tab is hidden.

Edit: Nope, you are correct. I accidently left test code in that updated the panel right after page load. Removed.

Yeah. Some parts of it are really...hacky, like the code to verify nation ownership by means of a telegram bot. I would love to hear better suggestions.

Regarding promotion, we might be able to do a News post. The only problem I see is that it involves players giving you access to their account passwords, and for all we know you are an evil mastermind. But that's an issue whether we promote it or not.

I really like the scrolling Embassies box, by the way. That's super nifty. I think you should add little up/down buttons so people can scroll through the list manually if they want, too. (Or maybe use their mouse wheel.)

A bug with that: if the region doesn't have a flag, it seems to display a broken image icon, when it would be better to show a default flag or nothing at all.

No I am not. The actual admins seem to think it's a good thing, but that's just my interpretation.

I would be happy to give you an admin token so you can view all of the data saved on the Firebase servers. I use Firebase for the cloud backup of settings/issue selections. Other than that, a manual grep of the source for all the ajax requests should show nothing untoward.

My alias 'Afforess' is pretty well linked with my real-life identity, so if I did something malicious, it would get back to me and it would affect my employment situation.

Edit: Also no rush to do a news posts. There are a bunch of stability and code cleanup things I want to do before I get a massive influx of users... I think waiting for version 2.0 would be ideal.

To prevent another nation from being able to read/write to user settings or issue choices. I generate a login token for firebase based on my secret key + nation name which is unique and lasts for 30 days. If I didn't do this, any nation could start manipulating another users settings or previous issue selections. Or I would not be able to use cloud backup/syncing.
