I suppose you can't just make the white box black?

I just attempted it and remembered why I never did that before. Some of the ads have transparent bits in them so it makes them look garish.

It does give me a potential idea, which I shall have to take a look at this weekend.

Alright, folks, another set of changes were made to the theme:

04/27/14
- Fixed problem where factbook endorsement box was misaligned
- Fixed problem where endorse count on factbook list was aligned to the top of the box
- Fixed problem in IE where "World Assembly" sidebar link was being split into two lines
- Increased space on IE sidebar to allow longer nation names to sit on one line

Also, Max has graciously made some changes to the Lexicon ad so it's no longer black text on a white background.

Hm? For me the Lexicon ad was always white text on a black background. Purple eye.

Right. It was working on and off, but now it's stable, I should say. I too saw it a number of times before today.

Hi. I'm not sure if this was always like it but recently the side bar seems to cut off as shown here. If the topic title's are short enough they all fit normally but if they are too long altogether, like in this, it only shows parts of it. It isn't a big deal or nothing, I was just wondering if it would be changed or nothing.

Hrm, that's really odd, because that sidebar is supposed to extend all the way to the bottom of the page. Also, it looks like you're using Chrome. What version are you using and what OS? I'm on Windows 7 with Chrome 34.0.1847.131 m and it seems to be working alright.

I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, with Torch (Chromium based browser) version 29.0.0.4888 (I think)

Alright, I see the issue. It's apparently only on the forums and it seems that when the topic titles there get too long, the sidebar extends downward, hits the ad below, and disappears behind it.

For those of us who have spent so many months toiling away in the dark corners of our rooms with our eyeballs being massaged by the calming embrace of your Dark Theme so that we may not be blinded at 3am while debating topics f liberalism, we humbly ask for your decision on whether or not there will ever be a Dark Theme for the Rift setup.

I personally must express my shock when I changed to the Rift(experimental) theme, forgetting that Default NS is white. I was in a dark room. The results were me crying out in agony as my eyes burned.

I in fact did. The question isn't whether there will be a dark theme when rift becomes default, the question is whether before rift becomes default, we'll get an addon to give us a dark rift theme.

How about we wait for Northrop-Grumman to reply here or in the Rift thread before asking a whole bunch of pointless questions. Such as:

[violet] indicated that the Rift back end is much different than most of the other themes. I suspect there's a lot more to it than adapting some CSS pages and changing a few buttons. So, until [violet] posts a final version, communicates the back end changes to N-G, and N-G takes the time to actually work up the changes (assuming they want to) ... NO.

Due to popular demand, I've added "Dark Rift (very experimental)" as a theme. This is a Dark variation of Rift: basically Northrop-Grumman's Dark theme, plus a few extra bits at the end, which modifies Rift.

Earlier I said it wasn't possible to do theme variations on non-default themes, but then I remembered it was.

I don't intend to spend much/any more time on Dark Rift until Rift is out of beta, but it seems to be basically usable. Northrop-Grumman may or may not be willing to maintain it.

Edit: Please note that when you change between Rift and Dark Rift, the first time your Settings page reloads, it still shows the old theme. But once you navigate away from the page, your new choice is in effect.
