Login Issues

Can't get on the forums with Victorious Decepticons now, but this one got in fine. I didn't bother activating the ByteCoin capability on this nation...that may have something to do with it.

Hopefully it'll work right again soon. I don't want to try to play with a nation full of boring humans. It'd be like playing with a bunch of sticks instead of the cool toys.

While trying to post here about how this happened to me earlier, I had to relogin 12 times.

This ByteCoin thing is essentially NationStates DOS'ing itself. Way to go guys.

Yes, apologies to everyone having troubles. The forum needs to contact gameside to verify logins, and gameside is getting smashed by high traffic.

I'm doing the best I can, but things will probably continue to be slow & fragile for a little while.

Wrong password on one machine, right password on the other.
I'm on the right password one, but every 10 minutes I auto-log-out.

I thought it was NS++'s fault so I tried uninstalling the add-on. Soon, I logged in and refused me five more times and then logged me out once again after I clicked on the "POST REPLY button.

Knowing that it was likely the issue we've completely identified, I wouldn't worry.

But you know there are ways of using "Wrong password, try again" messages from a fake intermediary, then letting you through to the correct one for the next attempt (to hide any tracable proxying/man-in-the-middle attack).

So, don't be paranoid (there are probably easier ways of getting into an average person's Facebook account, etc), but don't be so easily fobbed off, either.

(By the way, I've got this tonne of gold in Nigeria. You wanna help me get it to Switzerland?)

On a probably related note, though I'm no longer experiencing login issues, but am experiencing highly frequent "502 bad gateway" errors.
I'm not certain they came with the Bytecoin mechanic, but didn't appear long before.
