These are a scourge and almost impossible to get rid of, because what happens is:

1. Developer creates rip-off game designed to extract cash from players' wallets
2. Developer offers referral money to anyone who can bring in players
3. Dozens/hundreds/thousands of people independently create accounts to advertise the game under different names on various ad networks
4. We try to block them one by one

Wartune and EpicX are the worst. Over the years, I've spent endless hours banning them. It works exactly like I described above: there's just no way to keep them off the site. It's really irritating.

They're two entirely different systems. [v] is basically attempting to do exactly that, but given the nature of Google's ad system, it is ridiculously easy for new iterations of these problem ads to slip through. These kinds of unscrupulous outfits can pay people in third-world countries chump change to constantly make new Google ad accounts to keep slipping past blocks, similar to the incorrectly-named "adbots" we sometimes get on the forums; they aren't automated scripts, they're real people (frequently in China, India, or Indonesia) being paid to go around to websites to make new accounts and post ad spam.

[v] still tries, of course, but much like DOS enforcement, players reporting suspect content is extremely useful in tracking and blocking these inappropriate ads.

[violet] and site owner Max Barry don't want certain types of ads showing up on the site, especially given the site's use in schools. That's why we prefer people report such ads so that they can be blocked from showing on our site. It doesn't affect the site's income from ads, it just means different ads will display.

They are very conservative by ad network standards, and let us opt-out of adult-ish stuff, as well as scammy categories like "Black Magic" and "Social Casino Games." But these ads for games featuring scantily-clad boob princesses are just filed under "Gaming," which we don't want to block. I'm not sure how the "Cheating partner" one appeared because we block "References to Sex & Sexuality."
