There are always additional possible options, but we're not going to change historical options except for typos and stat errors. Basically, no.

In Issue 162, is there a reason "Cancer Research Clinic" is capitalised? It's talking the country's largest clinic, which implies it's a common noun, not a specific name - in which case there's no need for capitals.

Auto Industry Struggles Against Foreign Imports

Postby Grimadean » Mon Dec 15, 2014 8:40 am

The Issue

Cheap, foreign-made cars are becoming increasingly popular, causing concern in Grimadean's automobile manufacturing industry.

[u]The Debate

"Unless this government does something, Grimadean won't have an auto industry for much longer," says auto industry union boss Doris McKay, in a rare public appearance alongside management. "These foreign companies employ people for a few E-Leass a day. The only way to level the playing field is to raise tariffs. The government would make more money, too, so it's win-win."

"For once, I agree with my grubby colleague here," says General Chassis CEO Peggy Falopian. "Although I have to say, tariffs aren't the only answer. A more effective solution would be to abolish minimum wage laws. Now that would level the playing field. And we'd be able to employ more--argh, let go of my throat!"

"I think we need to face facts," says noted economist and chat-show regular Hack Yeats. "We live in a global economy now, and automobile manufacturing just isn't Grimadean's strong suit. There's no point taking money from taxpayers in order to line the pockets of a few greedy workers and corrupt managers in a doomed industry. Let the market take its--argh, let go of my throat!"

This is the position your government is preparing to adopt.

The Government Position

The government has indicated its intention to follow the recommendations of Option 3.

The following was simply copied and pasted from my factbook; forgive the caps:

THERE WAS NO INTENTION OF RAISING TAXES IN THE OPTION I CHOSE! IN FACT, IT SAID "THERE'S NO POINT TAKING MONEY FROM TAXPAYERS IN ORDER TO LINE THE POCKETS OF A FEW GREEDY WORKERS AND CORRUPT MANAGERS IN A DOOMED INDUSTRY"! NO TARIFFS! NO TAXES! NO TYRANNY!

Melodramatic maybe, but I just couldn't help meself. ;)

Fixed. I think the tax change was there originally to represent the abolition of tariffs depriving the government of income, which would have to be met through taxes - but since spending is being cut too (auto industry subsidies) that more than cancels it out.

Issue #280, Option 1
Lucas Plath, apparent spokesperson for the families of the victims gasps out between sobs, "The only reason this happened is the government has turned a blind eye to the dangers of these vehicles! The solution is obvious, pass and rigidly enforce safety regulations on dangerous industries! Oh, and make the owners of these companies financially liable to the families. I mean, I lost my dad after all, I deserve a little bit of compensation."

Issue #054: Time To Put The Older Senators Out To Pasture?

Option #3. Your aunt's mother's step-sister's best friend's hairstylist, Mia Curze, pooh-poohs the entire idea. "You know how to run your country, yes? Why deal with the hassle of elected officials and elections in the first place, yes? Eliminate elections and this entire term limit issue becomes moot, yes?"

The name highlighted in red isn't right. The woman in question is the hairstylist of the best friend of your aunt's mother's step-sister, so she shouldn't have the same name as my/your/a nations leader.

Just wanted to point out the error.

Thanks.

@RandomNames are sometimes plucked from custom fields, so it's random. She could have had the same name as your national animal or currency, or even a word from your motto. It's not hard coded to be the same as "Leader". Not an error.

Issue #314: An Affair to Remember?

Description: A recent investigation by The New Jerusalem Times has shown that the nation's tough adultery laws have hit the poor hardest. An odd assortment of left-wing activists, religious leaders, and scantily clad protesters have demanded the government take action as more of Culture of Life's impoverished citizens find themselves in prison.

"Have demanded" should be changed to "has demanded" given that the word "assortment" is singular.

In issue 150, "Bug 'em All, Say Police," the description begins with The @@NATION@@ police force have come to you. . . For me, it reads as follows: The The Nation of Ceneria police force have come to you. . . .

Would it be possible to change it to "The @@DEMONYM@@ police force have come to you. . ."

Thanks!

In The Issues #136, "Much Ado About Abortion", option 3, and #183 "Buy a better Baby," option 1, foetus should be fetus.

In addition, the outcome (not the issue wording) for issue #365 "A Busload of Worry", option 3 has a typo. Progroms should be programs.

Nope, that is a legitimate alternative spelling.

The effect is referring to religious pogroms. That word is correct. See: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/pogrom

In issue #304, the title is written out as "Time for Paternity Leave, say Dads" with says—as part of the title—undercased. In MLA format, only articles, prepositions, and conjunctions are left undercased, are they not? Shouldn't "says" be capitalized?

I want to say it's OK by British standards due to how they handle collective nouns like assortment. That and I think it sounds better the way it is. :p

In Issue 164, the use of @@ANIMAL@@ immediately after a punctuation mark means that, if the animal field is filled in with lower case, the sentence begins with lower case e.g.
You can't deny perfectly good people the right to bring life into this world! gold throated blood sucking wood hamsters manage it easily enough, and you can't tell me they've got more responsibility than your average upstanding citizen of Schutzenphalia and West Ruhntuhnkuhnland!

I don't know whether this is something that can be fixed, by forcing the macro to capitalise, or whether you'd just have to rewrite the sentence, or whether it's not worth the bother.

In issue 219—Nobody Expects the @@NAME@@ Inquisition!—in the first option, the starting word the in the dialogue needs to be capitalized.

Cardinal Mortimer Gratwick, Archbishop of Feohn, demands you kiss his ring before telling you, "the Church encourages the formation of an Inquisition. Of course, in order to bring this noble plan into effect, the Holy Office must have jurisdiction over the civil courts."

While not necessary, I think you should consider adding the word "an" to Issue #76, Option 2:

Rosalia Winters, secretary of labor, advises you to adjust laws to allow white-collar unions. "It only makes sense that all of the workers in our nation have [an] equal opportunity to benefit from the advantages of collective bargaining."

The second response of Issue #67 (the option with General Bill Sherman) triggers the flavourtext: 'Following new legislation in Voltrovia, the government violently surpresses separatist movements.'

Instead of supresses the word should be spelt suppresses.
