(I meant to make this thread a while ago, but oh well. My thanks to The Rejected Realms for indirectly reminding me. :P)

Welcome to the embassy of The Pacific.

As a Feeder region, we are one of the birthing regions of Nationstates. We are also the birthplace of the New Pacific Order, and since it's formation over seven years ago, The Pacific has been a bastion of order and stability.

This Embassy will provide updates from The Pacific, and representatives from our region will answer any questions you may have, although I cannot guarantee that they will be happy about it, nor that you will be happy with our answers.

Here is our most recent update:

18 November 2010

OPERATION PHOENIX DOWN IS LAUNCHED

In Francograd, capital of The Pacific, the Delegate Krulltopia has announced the commencement of Operation PHOENIX DOWN, a reform of a number of areas in The Pacific, concentrated on World Assembly affairs. The reforms have seen a widening in Pacifican participation in WA votes and changes in policy to a more activist position in influencing World Assembly and Security Council votes. In his closing statement the Delegate said, "As this is being written, a few of our fellow Feeders and Sinkers are in doubt. Are lost. We remain as a bastion of Order, and we need to bring the light into the World. So return to the shores of Pacifica, and embrace the new age. There is a role to be played for everyone, and the more of us that stand side by side, the easier it is for enemies to be driven back by our indomitable collective will."

AMBASSADORIAL PROGRAMME REBOOTED

Pacifican ambassadors are once more streaming out into the world, spreading the Word of Pacifica to regions far and wide. The main effort has been to the other feeders and game regions who have all been appointed new Ambassadors, whilst a few userite regions have received Pacifican Envoys.

PEOPLES PUPPET

The Peoples Puppet continues with the People having recently voted on the issue of "Put The "Board" Back In Board Of Education". A majority vote decided that the nation of Pacifican Spirit would enact option 3, "Corporal punishment would only treat a symptom of the bigger problem: our education system is in need of an overhaul," says Bill Christmas, Pacifican Spirit's education minister. "We need smaller class sizes, more teachers, better buildings, and better pay. It'll cost, but it'll pay off in the long run."

Currently under discussion is whether people should be able to "Buy a Better Baby".

The Peoples Puppet nation can be found here.

iNTERNATIONAL cAPS lOCK dAY

And finally, The Pacific recently celebrated International Caps Lock Day. We'll spare you the gory capitalization, but rest assured that a good time was had by all... except Krulltopia: "look, I know this is amusing, but please don't post on the RMB like this, you are making my eyes bleed."

Newsflash: Terrorists threaten The Pacific

Newsflash: Terrorists threaten The Pacific

Recently, Krulltopia, Delegate of The Pacific revealed that State Security recently foiled a terrorist plot in Francograd. Believed to be acting on orders from the userites of Grand Central, the terrorists were attempting to attack the Delegate as he made his way to address the People’s Congress. Exact details of the plot have not been released, except that the terrorists had been caught and “deleted” by State Security.

Grand Central, the userite region behind the terrorist plot, is also believed to be the source of recent attempts at sedition in The Pacific. The unprovoked attacks on Pacifican sovereignty by these userites have no support from true Pacificans, all of whom can readily see through the lies of userite spies. The New Pacific Order provides for the stability, security and prosperity of the Pacifican people, whilst the userites who attempt to subvert The Pacific with their treachery are driven only by narrow greed and a desire to use the resources of The Pacific for their own malevolent ends.

All Pacificans are reminded to be alert for spies and traitors and to report any suspicious activity or messages.

The Pacifican Army Calls For Volunteers

The Pacifican Army Calls For Volunteers

Image
The Army marches through Victory Square in Francograd

Late yesterday afternoon the streets of Francograd reverberated to the sound of a thousand Pacifican jackboots, as the newly reinstated Pacific Army marched through the capital of The Pacific. For a long time the peace has been kept by the militias, without the need for a standing army. But, times have changed and once more the userite hordes threaten the Pacifican Ideal. With the threat of war against the motherland, the militas are not sufficient and once again, the citizens of The Pacific must take up arms to defend their region from those who threaten her.

It has not taken long for the Pacific Army to be reformed, long-term contingency plans were enacted by the Senate overnight and the fires of Pacifican industries almost immediately turned to a war production footing. Weapons, armour and vehicles are coming from the production lines as even those citizens who do not join the Army fight for The Pacific with their industriousness.

As the parade reached Victory Square, the troops halted. The bayonets of the massed ranks of Pacifican soldiers shone in the afternoon sun, as the Pacifican soldiers stood to attention under fluttering banners of the red and black. Krulltopia, Delegate of The Pacific and Emperor of the New Pacific Order, then addressed them, praising their dedication to the Pacifican cause and reminding them all of the treacherous nature of the userite foe. The Pacific had done nothing, he said, to provoke the attacks against us, these enemies attack us out of hatred and treachery. He put the call out for more volunteers, calling on all Pacificans to serve the motherland and defend her from the unwarranted userite aggression.

Citizens of The Pacific are directed to the People's Bastion in Francograd to sign up for military service. All Pacificans, whether military or civilian, are reminded to be alert for spies and traitors and to report any suspicious activity or messages.

New appointments and announcements

Postby Krulltopia » Wed Mar 23, 2011 4:19 pm

Thank you for the comments, Southern Bellz.

It is a time for rejuvenation in The Pacific, and it is a pleasure to announce the promotion of two Loyal Pacificans.

Firstly, Laws and Bylaws has been a loyal member of the region for many years, serving in numerous capacities, but mainly in the Department of Justice. Therefore, I am proud to appoint him as our newest Senator of Justice. Congratulations, and I am sure you will continue to serve the Pacific as you have always done, bringing the light of Pacifican Justice to those that deserve it.

Those who are willing to do the work of the Justice should join the Praetorian Guard, our proud institution that has guarded our region for many years. Be part of one o the forces that protects The Pacific from the Userite and the sycophant. Help defend the Pacific from the filth that crawls into our beloved region, and watch as the burn in the fires of The Rejected Realms.

With the rebuilding of the Pacific Army, the ever increasing approach of new enemies at our door, and the promise of the ability to annex other regions, The Pacific Army has needed a strong and capable commander to lead it to glory once again. Fortunately, I am proud to announce the return of former Pacific Army commander Limitless Events, who is eager to once again lead The Pacific Army on to victory.

For those who wish to fight the Enemy more directly, and see more of Nationstates, you are encouraged to join the Pacific Army, where you can do your part to protect the Pacific and to spread the glory of the New Pacific Order across Nationstates.

Through Justice and Might, The Pacific will once again shine its light into the dark corners of Nationstates. All Hail Senator Laws & Bylaws and Pacific Army Commander Limitless Events.
Hail Pacifica!
Hail the New Pacific Order!

Introducing: RMB Correctional Officers

The Senator for Justice Laws & Bylaws has announced the formation of RMB correctional officers as part of a reform of the Pacific's Justice department. The idea idea behind the Officers is to appoint loyal Pacificans to patrol the regional message board of The Pacific in order to uphold the Pacific's civil code. This approach will also as an introduction to the forums for newer players. In the announcement, Senator Laws and Bylaws outlined the structure and functions of the office. The appointed officers would be responsible for the (in character) apprehension of civil code violators, and bringing them into the custody of the justice department. Along with the RMB officers, a scribe and chief prosecutor also make up the office, with Jeux II being appointed Chief Prosecutor by the Senator of Justice.
It's in your hands. It's your RMB. You want justice, make it happen.

The 8th Anniversary and Appointments
Starting on August 28th, the New Pacific Order began to celebrate it's 8th Anniversary. After 8 years and several different iterations, The Pacific still stands as a bastion of Order. In celebration of this, several important appointments were made. Avakael was appointed as the new commissariat of Foreign Affairs, while Jeux II was appointed Recruitment Officer. Since their appointment, both Pacificans have made great strides within their departments and have helped The Pacific move forward.

Kurdazistan/Zhadanov
On the 30th of August, the individual known as Kurdazistan/.Zhadanov was put on trial for various breaches of The Pacific's civil code. After his initial application was rejected for incompleteness and a refusal to take the oath, he hung around the region, harassing Pacificans (including the Senate) trying to undermine the region's government. When enough evidence was gathered to conclusively prove his guilt, a trial was set and justice was dealt. Despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, and his behaviour during the trial, Kudazistan claimed it to be a mistrial, harassing more Pacificans before being banned from the forums.
Emperor Krulltopia then informed Pacificans of this problematic individual, and urged Pacificans to either ignore him or to report them to the moderators if necessarily. Since then this individual tried to harass others, and has, at time of writing, been DEATed by admin.

THE PACIFIC CLOSES TNI EMBASSY

"The recent military invasion by userite forces into the Rejected Realms is a matter of gravest concern to The Pacific and offends the fundamental Francoist principles by which The Pacific conducts itself. The Pacific does not tolerate userite meddling in any Feeder or Sinker region. Whilst we do not condone the policy of the Rejected Realms to compromise its own feederite standing, through its participation in the userite Founderless Regions Alliance, the invasion and taking of the Delegacy of the Rejected Realms by userite forces is intolerable to The Pacific. We wish to make it clear to The New Inquisition, and any other region, that such a flagrant attack on a Feederite region will be opposed by The Pacific in the strongest possible terms. As such The Pacific has ordered all diplomats from The New Inquisition to leave our region within 24 hours and has closed the The New Inquisition Embassy in The Pacific with immediate effect.”

PACIFICAN MILITARY BUDGET INCREASED

The Pacifican Army has opened the doors of Fort Franco to new recruits once more and the recruiting offices in Francograd have already seen queues outside the doors. The decision was made to increase the annual recruiting and training budget of the Army by the Delegate after Pacifican army units deployed to The Rejected Realms in support of the native feederite Delegate, highlighting the importance of maintaining an army to protect The Pacific and feederite interests.

RECENT WORLD ASSEMBLY ACTIVITY

The Pacific has voted in favour of the repeal of "Medical Blockade Restriction" and also voted in favour of the resolution “A Decriminalization of Suicide”.

HALL OF THE GREAT HARVEST

Spam is as bountiful as ever in The Pacific, especially with the recent startup of the Spam Points game which promises to separate the real spammers from the pretenders. The Halls have also seen Pacificans showing that most of them have appalling taste in music too.

*Orders the guards to put Hofkauzern down*

You raise an interesting question.

I slightly disagree with your premise though, feeders gain simple numbers of nations yes, but the feeders have never been able to "effortlessly" gain genuinely active members. GCR's must actively recruit those almost as much as userites do. Also, scripts may reduce the effort in recruiting, for all who do it, but they make a difference purely in quantity not quality of messages. Quality of telegrams, quality of the message crafted and sent, will always be key.

As such the way I see it, telegram scripts are just a technological evolution in recruiting techniques rather than some kind of paradigm shift between feederites and userites. In short, they are another tool in our arsenal just as equally as they are a tool for userites.

An Announcement
From The
New Pacific Order

Regarding May 10th's Personnel Shakeup

Henceforth, the Pacifican Senate shall now include Feux and Karpathos. Feux shall serve as the NPO Senator of WA Affairs and Karpathos shall administrate security affairs. Karpathos is a former NPO Senator and Feux has served in many roles, such as Grand Prefect of the Praetorian Guard, during his time in the New Pacific Order.

Furthermore, Milograd has been chosen by the Senate to serve as the public and diplomatic face of the New Pacific Order. Senator Gaspo said,

"Milograd's extensive experience interacting with every type of NS player, and his notable ability to energize and relate to individuals otherwise disinterested in gameplay matters, indicated to me that he possessed a strong personality and had the ability to truly connect with people from all corners of this game. The Senate could not think of a more qualified, recognized, or recently-unemployed candidate for this position.

The Senate recognizes Milograd's longstanding NPO citizenship and extensive participation in all aspects of regional life. While he has been notably active outside The Pacific lately, his dedication to the NPO has never wavered, and in keeping with The Pacific's longstanding respect for the principle of duality, we consider Milograd to be a citizen in good standing and perfectly suited for this and what positions likely lie ahead for him."
These changes mark the beginning of a new and bright era for The Pacific that is guaranteed to be prosperous.

Hail Pacifica!

An Announcement
From The
New Pacific Order

Regarding The South Pacific's Closure of Embassies with the NPO

The Pacific is disappointed that The South Pacific has chosen to throw out a longstanding alliance thanks to mere pettiness and over-zealously determined, uninformed speculation about the NPO's involvement in Milograd's coup of the South Pacific. The Pacific did not have the resources to support the Coalition of the South Pacific during Milograd's coup due to exams and other pressing circumstances. Alas, it seems that the Coalition is incapable of respecting and acknowledging the truthful explanation they have been repeatedly given.

The South Pacific's hypocrisy is equally disappointing. The South Pacific slapped Antariel, a convicted felon in the Pacific, on the wrist for trying to overthrow its legal delegate Krulltopia, and despite what punishments the Coalition may claim to have distributed, Antariel is currently a member of The South Pacific's executive cabinet. Furthermore, The South Pacific's leading members have been self-righteous, undiplomatic, and offensive in their recent diplomatic affairs with the New Pacific.

The South Pacific's statement is full of falsehoods. The Pacific's statement regarding the coup clearly shows this:

Regarding the present situation in The South Pacific, The Pacific would like to express our belief that interference by us in favour of either the Coalition of The South Pacific or the Milograd-controlled Delegacy is not in the best interests of The South Pacific. We express our support for the residents to decide for themselves which system of governance is the appropriate one for them, and do not believe it appropriate to lend our weight to one side or another as The South Pacific resolves this internal conflict.

It is unsurprising that the spineless, faux-neutral Coalition cannot respect neutrality in a conflict; indeed, this is yet another example of the Coalition's hypocrisy. When a Coalition-aligned nation showed up in The Pacific and spammed our message board with recruitment advertisements asking for help, we were assured that the Coalition was not involved and we gave the Coalition the courtesy of assuming that it was true. Yet, when we gave them our statement about why we weren't deployed in support of them, they chose to whine, complain, and spit on a longstanding relationship between our regions.

In a similar incident, the Pacific did not publicly object to The South Pacific's housing of Antariel within its sovereignty out of respect to its government, and yet here we have not been shown the same courtesy. The Pacific values duality and has done so for nearly a decade.

The Cabinet's petty statement confirms what concerns we had about our relationship with The South Pacific; TSP wants to have their cake and eat it too, and they are unable to accept the circumstances regarding The Pacific's involvement, or lack thereof, in the coup.
