Did KGB just announce a harassment case via an IC-toned news post, and without offering to provide proof?

I will wholly admit that including Howard's banishment in an IC update was a mistake, one for which I take full responsibility. The update was rushed and was not given the adequate inspection that it should have been given. In the future, myself in the rest of the Foreign Staff will be much more critical about what reaches the public eye in forms of IC updates.

As for why we did not publicly provide evidence, we decided that such information was too sensitive. For the safety of our citizens, their information will be kept private. If any other regions wish to investigate this matter on their own, they can contact the KoGB admin team. However, any information we share will come at the discretion of the victims; protecting them is our number one priority in this matter.

Again, I deeply apologize for this glaring mistake. It was a mistake made in the middle of the night, after studying for a test, while already being sleep deprived. The effort was rushed and I paid the price for it. I do hope you will accept my personal apology as the mistake lies solely with me; not with the King, the Government, or anyone else within KoGB. Furthermore, I will immediately order the ambassadors to remove this from our Foreign Updates, starting with the NSGP.

Just want to point out the rule regarding OOC accusations:

Harassment/Griefing: Harassing/griefing a nation or region because of their words or actions is forbidden regardless - in telegrams, Regional Messageboard (RMB) posts, and on the forums.
*Accusations of misconduct that may bring real world repercussions outside of NationStates do not belong in public spaces on NationStates and will be punished as harassment. Players may post, in general terms, about factual repercussions taken in response (I.e. removal from a region or regional position), but may not go into details or link to material that does.

While it was acceptable to note what actions the region has taken in response to the nation in question, listing the specific serious accusations as you did should be avoided. Since the post was self-corrected, no mod action against you will be taken at this time.

These kind of things get tricky and I appreciate the sensitivity being taken with the materials. You all and anyone are welcome to share evidence through a GHR.

Archives Dusted and Reviewed
Image

May 4–12 — The government has been fairly busy this week, with several internal cleanups and managements taking place. Not the least of which, our Home Secretary, Madeline VerinGuard, has gone over the current citizen database, including new citizens and excluding those who've departed or appear to have passed on. In addition, the Attorney General's Office and the Legislative Steering Committee have been relentlessly updating the Law Index in a timely manner, as well as pushing for an act that has made it through the House of Commons. A review of the constitution is also underway to find any loopholes or contradictions. Now 50% complete, the review is expected to be complete by the end of the month.

Conference of Britons, End of Endor
Image

May 5, 8 — On May 8, the successful Festival of Endor drew to a close. However, festivities are far from over, as it was announced on May 5 that the Conference of Britons, a festival for fellow British regions, will be taking place May 20–22. During the conference, various British-themed regions will discuss their regions, as well as the similarities and differences between them. It is sure to be an informative and engaging window of time for the regions and KoGB.

State Visit with Olympia
Image

May 12 — A state visit with Olympia commenced on May 12. The ongoing event is hoped to bring Olympia and KoGB closer together, with various games and events, most of which started by our Minister of Culture, shall take place during this time. With the successful return of weekend games, there is hope that the two regions may participate with one another, though this weekend’s event was cancelled due to holiday. It is also hoped that the two regions may learn from one another, and it’s sure to be a pleasant event in an eventful month.

Visit Over, Agreement Here to Stay?
Image

May 17 — A successful State Visit with Olympia has finally come to an end. Negotiations were proven to be successful after plans to expand the Kingdom of Great Britain's relationship with Olympia were revealed, with a new Cultural Agreement being proposed on May 17. The agreement, in short, will be fairly similar to the existing cultural agreement with The Galactic Order, which has had successful weekend games. The agreement also leaves the door open to closer relations with Olympia and other regions around NationStates.

MP Citizenship Stripped, New Elections Imminent
Image

May 19 — Marius Titus von Churchill, a Member of Parliament for Wales, has been stripped of citizenship after being legally classified as "missing" due to severe inactivity. This has been a somewhat controversial topic, as Marius is the first sitting MP to have been stripped of citizenship. Due to this, a by-election was called, and the Welsh seat was filled by Francis A. Stuart-Mountbatten, a former MP himself, who was the only person wishing to take the seat. It is hoped that Marius will be able to find his way back to our region once again, but it's inherently obvious that, at least for now, this was the best course of action to take. Francis was elected with over 90% of the vote with one person abstaining. The ‘election’ of Francis officially put an independent party in the seat, removing the 100% British Royalist Party occupation.

Citizen of the Month
Image

May 20 — The routine election for Citizen of the Month was held recently, the choices were between Sarah VerinGuard-Stuart, Henry Beaufort, Madeline VerinGuard, Wilhelm von Churchill, and Jay Dee Bonaparte. With exactly 20 votes at the close of the polls, the election resolved with Madeline VerinGuard receiving no votes, Henry Beaufort receiving one, Wilhelm von Churchill seeing three, Jay Dee Bonaparte seeing five, and Sarah VerinGuard-Stuart seeing an astounding 11, making her the apparent winner. As of May 20, Sarah VerinGuard-Stuart has been named citizen of the month, with the next election planned to begin on the 20th of June.[.table]

A New Government for KoGB
Image

This past fortnight saw the end of the 32nd Parliament, followed by a tumultuous General Election that resulted in the election of Rikki Arche as the first Prime Minister from the Rainbow Independence Party. Prime Minister Arche was elected after three previous votes were held for the Office of Prime Minister with the leader of the British Royalist Party, Harold Coxon and an Independent Candidate, Madeline Norfolk having failed to secure a majority. In a sign of the qualities of the new Prime Minister, both of her rivals for the premiership joined her expanded frontbench in what has been dubbed 'The Cooperative Cabinet'.

A Royal Wedding
Image

We bring joyous news of the upcoming nuptials of His Lordship, The Vicomte de Balleroy, Edward Stuart and Lady Madeline Norfolk. With His Majesty the King's blessing, the couple are to be wed in Westminster Cathedral by the Archbishop of Canterbury. We wish the happy couple joyous tidings and invite all the diplomats and representatives of our friends across NationStates to join us for the Royal Wedding of the Son of our Monarch his Betrothed.

How are these related to the individuals who declared a shadow war on Osiris and Euro?

Just so that I can update my own documentation.

Might be, but I find that the NS Families that take their 'standard roleplay' most seriously are the ones where issues develop it seem. To be fair, I might be particularly biased in this case due to the extensive history of OOC issues that KGB has.

A lot of people develop a very different IC character than their ns personality though. I only really see it as an extention of rp.

I just see it as an extention of rp more than anything, nothing to get concerned about in itself until it actually develops something concerning.
