So Long

I'll go ahead and preface this by saying that I have no idea if I am important enough to merit a Gameplay retirement thread, but I figure there are a few people who may care who will see this and appreciate it.

Well, the time has come. I'm at a point in my life where I won't have the same kind of time for NationStates that I've had since I started playing 9 years ago. My new responsibilities preclude me from maintaining this hobby that I have loved for a very long time. This is a great game, with a lot of great people, and I will miss all of you who have befriended me. I will miss my various regional homes: Caprecia, Equinox, The South Pacific, Europeia, and all other places where I have been made welcome over the years.

I don't have any shocking secrets to reveal, anyone to trash, or any real words of wisdom to leave behind. All I wanted was to take a moment to write a heartfelt farewell to the Gameplay community.

I am resigning all of my citizenships with the exception of Europeia effective this Tuesday. If you care to remove me at that time, feel free, otherwise I'm sure it will happen eventually through the typical means. I will not be keeping any nations alive but this one. I do not anticipate that I will be reachable by IRC, TG, PM, or whatever on a regular basis. If you would like to contact me, Skype will be the best means to do so, though don't expect a timely response.

I will still be around through Tuesday if you need me for anything, but it will be sporadic after that.

Thus, I enter my semi-retirement. So long, all of you, and thank you.

You missed the perfect opportunity to name this thread "Sopo Long". A disappointment until the end, you are.

You'll be back. I've been in and out of semi-retirement enough to tell you that. Until you burn all your bridges, folks will still try to keep you crossing back. Have fun while it lasts though!
