Can a nation be founded in my region?

Postby Nrebium » Thu Feb 26, 2015 8:40 am

Nations are always founded in a Region, but never in mine. Can I make this possible?
This is the region Postapocalyptic Potatoland

No. New nations are born in feeder regions like the Pacific regions. They cannot just pop up in your region.

Nations have to voluntarily move to your region.

*shrugs* You can't just have nations come to your region. You have to give them a reason to want to join your region, but considering yours is just one out of thousands, that may be a tall order. You have to make yourself known in the game or have something that appeals to others, whatever that may be.

To add to what was already said, the only other regions that nations can found in are school class regions set up by a teacher for a class project. However, they have to be students of that teacher, have a special link and actually want to join the region.

You can create your own, or join in already existing ones, if it's open for you to participate.

Click on the forum link to the left and explore game play things, like trade, international incidents, etc.

Have you looked through the region tags? You'll see what the majority of regions try and catagorise themselves as; what sort of thing are you aiming for?

I looked at them but they are not very special or unique, but I added some more. We want to become a rather big and fun region with all sorts of players

Roleplay is not everything there is to do on this game or to be known for.

Here is a (slightly outdated) thread that might help you further: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=53016

Because, of course, some people are known for answering questions, closing threads, banning people, warning people and helping people.

Long before I was a mod, I was well known as a defender/gameplay trouble maker. There are several areas in the game, and each have people who are well known for different things.

"Making yourself known" really isn't how to attract nations to your region. Think about it; new nations know very little about NationStates or the people in it, so they wouldn't know you even if you were well known.

Have a look at the guide Crazy Girl linked to if you want to attact nations to your region.

You need a shtick. What makes your region unique? Why should anyone join your region and not another?

Not really... No. Independence is not an ideology of sitting on the fence of R/D. It in fact involves the rejection of the whole moralistic R/D idea, for the belief that both are just techniques of military action, and have no inbuilt moral quality.
