And for most other bigger activities, even if using another area, I've found it by tracking a pup or two coming our of, say spear danes or unity.

Find one of the nights where I get home at a bad time, and follow the basic stealth method of jumping from all different regions with clean pups? Yeah, sure. You don't even need to tell people a region. Just round the target up to the next ten minute mark or so, and say any region after that. Let them randomize. No cross-endoing means a lot less of an influence drain on me, and makes it harder for both you and I to know how many people you have, but also denies me nations I know for certain are part of the group - probably better if you know you have enough, but only by a few.

Honestly, if I'm teaching this, most of which I taught myself, I don't know if you really should be running a defender region.

There is no hiding a large liberation attempt just as there is no hiding a massive invasion attempt. Even with Euro's sneakier tactics (which are getting increasingly more common among the other raider orgs again), any competent defender still can see the fresh WA admits and the general moves of new nations into later updating regions (such as Balder). Liberations tactically speaking are exactly the same as large-scale invasions. Whether we all lump together in Unity or we create an ijp, we're all going to be spotted by a competent invader lead (which has become more common over the past few years). We could do a Euro-sphere style raid where we all jump in from various places and then endorse our lead, but as I've said before, we can still be spotted by competent gameplayers. Many defenders are also slower having not participated in many missions of the sort. If we were to make a wider trigger to compensate, it would spell death for the liberation as its easier now more than ever for invader delegates to ban incoming defenders. The closest thing I've seen to a true stealth update operation these days is when TITO staged for a liberation within 10KI in the days leading up to it. This happened back in the spring of this year IIRC.

I used to just create a WA at around 6:00 EST a few days before an actual mission, and move it into a nice little place.

The Defenderon Gospel: Edition I

The Army of Defenderon went on its first update watch tonight. The very presence of mighty Defenderon was evidently enough to scare off the raider menace this night, as not a single invasion needed to be intercepted; although a certain Cimmerian was observed running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Instead, the Army headed off to Unity and assisted with a couple reinforcement runs. Overall, a quiet night in which natives of the world may rest easy.

The Tobliron Mining Brigades were on the lookout, but alas we encountered nothing. Perhaps Defenderon truly did scare the raiders from the field!

Certain Cimmerian tested and teased how trigger happy the Paladins of defenderon could be, when there were no other responsibilities for The Raideron. You don't have to be even WA-Member to cause trigger lunatic defender reaction, and that happened not only once but twice.

So, that about that "running around like headless chicken". :lol:

I was just as bored as you were apparently, but it is still nice be out there.

My Ego is not that big, but it is still very well sufficient for conducting activities of My profession, You Know. I got voluntary one update Off-Duty during Minor. I can't remember when I last time missed an Update and sleeping well, if you're interested, Arch-Dee. : :lol:

Let's call such activity as "Reconnaissance". There are time look and evaluate enemy's speed, skills and numbers when making fake raids.

*cough* (There was people online. But apparently they all are tied into their secret sleeper operations or spending Off-duty, or then they still chicken raid with me, poor Cimmerian.)

Not really. When you're staring at the activity page, you see someone moving from a Raider dump, and the only WA activity you see is from Defenders, it's pretty easy to put 2 and 2 together.

I totally jumped the gun. If the trigger was proper, I normally wouldn't have enough time to check the WA status of the jumpers though.

You don't have to check, you just have to pay attention. If you see someone move after the first 5 minutes of the hour and didn't see them join the WA or endorse anyone, it's almost always a false alarm.

Stealth raids aren't worth the effort. They're so difficult to set up, I'd rather just let you waste your time on them, and then later go de-tagging.

They're quite easy to track by just watching WA membership and endorsements over the course of an update, though.

The Defenderon Gospel: Edition II

The Army of Defenderon once again sallied forth to combat the raider menace. Mainstream raiders such as the infamous Black Riders were still nowhere to be seen, although a certain Cimmerian continued to run about like a chicken with its head chopped off.

That being said, the night was not quiet. A group of raiders was spotted assembling in Balder, and began to attack Portugal. The AoD, assisted by Benevolent Thomas, quickly moved to intercept, but while we were more than fast enough we were sadly lacking in numbers. Other Defender groups appear to have made the attempt as well, but were too slow to make a difference. It is a sad day for the natives of that region, and we shall keep them in our thoughts as we continue the good fight.

Later, a small group, whom we can only assume was new to raiding, was spotted moving into Vermont before Major Update even began. Thanks to swift action by the AoD and allies, and pinpoint calculation of its update time, Vermont was spared the torch this day.

From Certain Cimmerian's perspective. Excerpt from The War Diary:

#333/SR030 • Friday, 21st November, Major Update: Shadow Rider Reinforcements in Islam and E.Mountain. Invasion of Portugal, Failed raid in Vermont. Nice Update. CROM -> Portugal
---> Written The Path of Fire for retired and resigned TBR Marshal Feuer Ritter.

In other words: 333rd Active and documented update. Reinforcing On going Sicarius/TBR occupations, taking part (passively, due being late in Endorsing) to The Invasion of Portugal and to Failed raider pile in Vermont (One of most fast evasion ever made by me, impossible to do if Head is cut off). Before raid done some paper works for honoring retired TBR Marshal. Considered as an entertaining update by Cimmerians. WA-Puppet moved to endorse WAD in The Invader Pile (UIAF) of the Invasion of Portugal.
