Nations join if they want - but each player can only have one WA nation at a time. A WA member may endorse any other WA member in the same region. Nation with the most endorsements in the region is the delegate, which gets an extra vote in the WA for each endorsement he or she has, and might have some power over the region (up to the founder). WA Members with at least two endorsements may submit WA proposals, which will go to vote if they get the approval of 6% of all WA Delegates in an allotted time. Once at vote the resolution passes if it gets more votes for than against- but remember delegates have more than one vote. The largest delegate casts more than 1000 votes.

Proposals must fit in certain categories, the mods have many rules for each category and resolutions overall, more can be read about them in the WA forums if someone is planning to write a resolution. General Assembly resolutions affect the stats of WA Members based on their category and strength.

That's about the 5 minute version of it.

If it's a General Assembly proposal/resolution and it passes, yes (even if it's a Repeal...).
Security Councils have other functions, instead.

Hello;
I was just wondering, if I wanted some help to raid a region, who would I contact, and how? Sorry if this shouldn't be posted here, but I am curious?

I was recently elected delegate of The Versutian Federation and was trying to come up with ideas for things I could do to make an impact internationally. One of the things I came up with as an idea was to form an alliance with other WA Delegates. This alliance would vote separate from the actual WA. For example, if there were 10 delegates, those 10 delegates would all hold a meeting and vote on a bill in private. Then, all of th delegates would vote the way of the majority. I think this could be a great way for delegates of smaller regions to come together and increase their influence internationally, but I am curious as to how many people would actually be interested.

This looks like it'll be fun. But the whole idea of everything is so confusing. The official instructions didn't help much. And my country is falling to hell at the moment. Lol.

I don't know what to do. I need general advice, just started yesterday.

Specialty

Postby 4942 Munroe » Tue Aug 23, 2016 5:50 pm

After I reached Level 7 for the Challenge system, it said that I qualify for a specialty. What exactly does that mean?

From the challenge page: "Your specialty is granted a boosted chance of coming into play in challenges."

Basically you can pick one stat that you are good at, and what you want to happen more frequently than others. So my nation is quite corrupt, so I chose corruption as my specialty. This means that corruption is far more likely to turn up when challenging someone.

Quick question, generally how long does it take until you have enough influence to close a region's borders?

How does Divitaen have so much influence? I was under the impression that influence was based off of regional residency and endorsements, and yet they have none of those (joined the region on the 13th and only 5 endorsements).

He has the influence carried over from his previous region. As you can see by the influence graph (http://www.nationstates.net/nation=divi ... ensusid=65) he is beginning to lose that influence from his past region, and in a bit he will only have the influence he has earned in Atlas, unless his nation moves/CTE's. His influence from other regions doesn't actually make it harder to kick, or give him more power in your region.

Password visible to residents, or invisible? It varies by a ton of things.

The number of nations in the region determines how much influence you need to password. The rate of increase of influence depends on how long your nation has been residing in said region, as well as how many endorsements it possesses.

How does a player determine the value of their currency in relation to NSDs (NationStates Dollars)? I've seen on a couple of threads in the forum that national currencies are not always exactly equivalent to the NSD, and I'd like to know how my currency is faring.

That is more a role playing question than gameplay I think. In general you can role play the worth of your currency as you please, as with most things relating to your nation.

There are calculators that some people use, but those things are developed by randoms, hosted offsite, and not spectacularly reliable for anything whatsoever.

It is a roleplay question, and any follow-up discussion should go in an RP forum.

And to build upon this previous post, I don't believe you can password a region no matter what unless you are above the rank "Handshaker". At least, that was what it was like previously.

Can someone tell me how to use the Telegram system to send private messages to people?

Also, do I have to register my nation as a member of the World Assembly to participate in debates on resolutions? Is there some sort of introduction or registry thread?

Finally, would having invitro-grown humans and human-animal hybrid anthros (anime-style catgirls, bunny-people etc) be too advanced for a MT nation, or would it be okay?

The easiest way is to navigate to their nation page. Down at the bottom left there is a send telegram link. It should be pretty obvious from there.

You can post in the debates, but it's not much use if you're not in the WA. You do the joining in-game (only one WA nation per player at any one time). There is no welcome thread, AFAIK.

That's a RP question, and depends very much on the group you are playing with. My personal opinion is that what you describe falls under post-modern, but you should ask the powers-that-be wherever you plan to RP.

Could someone please be so kind as to provide me with some advice on how to write a better WFE? As my region is now entering the international scene, I'd like to transition from a less minimal WFE to one with more links and descriptions, like that of the INWU. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks!

Either contact some of the the nations who endorsed you, asking them to remove their support, or leave the WA (temporarily or permanently) so that all of those endorsements are lost: Unfortunately there's no way for you yourself to reduce the number in any other way, although the possibility has been discussed in 'Technical' before now.

You lose endorsements when someone withdraws theirs endorsement from your nation. When you resign from the World Assembly, you lose all of your endorsements as well. Endorsement Caps depend on the region that your nation is in. Some regions may have an endorsement cap that you cannot exceed, and some do not have a set endorsement cap. I would check the World Factbook Entry and with a leader of your region first if you are unaware of what the endorsement caps are.

If you are trying to get people to unendorse you, you can always telegram them and ask them to do so.
