The Internationale Refounded; NationStates Left Celebrates
PASSIFLORIANAPOLIS, T.I. -- The Internationale, one of the leading regions on the NationStates Left, has been refounded in the culmination of a months-long plan that stretches back to November 2013.
On November 20, 2013, regional founder La Pasionaria was deleted by moderators, who also conducted a puppet sweep. Martial law was declared and enforced by The Red Fleet and a multiregional task force including nations from The MT Army, Argentina, the Communist Party of NationStates, the Democratic Socialist Assembly, Eurasia, Lazarus, North Korea, and the Social Liberal Union. One hundred total nations joined the defensive effort, for which the medal "Hero of The Internationale" was awarded in four classes to participants.
During the Defense of The Internationale, a vote was held among regional members to decide the region's fate, with options presented of locking the region and holding it as a museum, refounding the region as a locked museum, or refounding the region as a new home. At the time, the result of the poll was announced that The Internationale would be locked as a museum, with the goal of misleading any spies as to the true goal. It can now be safely announced that the true result of this vote was to refound the region to be used as the region's home.
When The Internationale received its hidden password at minor update on January 1, most of the regional population had moved to its purportedly future home, "The International." The drawdown of soldiers, spies, and inactive members spanned the next four months, with the operation declared finished on March 30. With the operation concluded, focus turned to revitalization and determination of a meaningful date to refound The Internationale.
Two dates were originally considered: May 1, being International Workers' Day, was first—when that date fell through, an attempt was made on May 8, to coincide with Victory Day, the Soviet celebration of the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II. Due to a miscalculation in triggering, the guardian nations left in TI to prevent it from ceasing to exist unexpectedly were moved out of the region too late, with one in the region at update.
A meaningful alternative date was needed. After some research, it was discovered that on June 30, 1871, in the aftermath of the brutal crushing of the Paris Commune, Eugène Pottier wrote the lyrics to what would become the anthem of workers, socialists, anarchists, communists, and leftists around the world: The Internationale. The anniversary of The Internationale's namesake was the perfect choice.
At major update on June 30, 2014, the guardian nation in The Internationale was evacuated just seconds before the region's update in a highly precise move made possible by further training and practice afforded by recent Antifa operations, then moved back immediately to secure the refound in a textbook operation.
At this early time, celebrations have been noted across several leftist regions' regional message boards, with more expected to join the jubilation as word spreads.
C'est la lutte finale Groupons-nous, et demain! L'Internationale Sera le genre humain!
