If you read it, you see that Cormac was involved with the plan, having access to the secret forum area and was talking to Belschaft on IRC about it. He just seems to attract shadiness and plots fall right into his lap time and time again. Don't do bad things kids. You WILL share your plans with Cormac and your plans WILL become public. It is inevitable, it physics.

I'm not saying that Cormac is shady and not to be trusted either. Its up to you to come to own conclusion about him :P

2. I can in fact be trusted with most things. It should be well known by now that GCR coup/subversion plots aren't one of those things, and I'm not sorry for not being trustworthy in that regard nor will I ever be sorry for it. So BT is right, stahp telling me.

"Operation Brave Toaster" - is that a reference to Eluvatar's toaster system, or something else I am missing entirely?

This is just more "NS aristocracy" squabbles - all these people are veterans and have been schlepping around the feeder/sinker curcuit for lustrums, have all couped each other/or plotted to coup each other, and will continue to do so whilst the GCRs maintain the artificial inportance of being the place where nations are spawned - move nation creation into random regions and their relevance will fade, just like their influence

I'm... lost for words.

There are times when I do feel very frustrated, especially with the South Pacific Assembly, but my answer to that is to step away a majority of the time. I've put a lot of work into neutrality and no matter my personal feelings on something I do whatever it is I can to keep that neutrality, as once I torpedo it, it's gone forever and I am not putting another 18 months into rebuilding it.

Seeing some of the names involved trouble me, considerably.

The South Pacific is a sovereign region, and its community as an extension thereof is also sovereign.

Well, this is somewhat surprising. It's no secret that myself, Todd and some others were pretty frustrated and angry at the time, and did a fair amount of moaning on IRC and talked amongst ourselves about a variety of things for a couple of days. However I'm completely unaware of anything beyond moaning having occurred, and am quite disappointed that someone I choose to trust with concerns has publicized them for no apparent reason other than causing drama, and in such a sensationalist manner.

Out of curiosity, if you decided this was a bad idea after a week, why does the forum still exist three months later? And why does there seem to be no post in it disavowing the entire plan and telling people not to go through with it? In fact, why is there a post from British Grand Pacific from August 29th, over a month later, discussing the need to lay low a bit longer? The evidence seems to suggest that this went on for much longer than a week, if it was ever halted at all.

I'm going to say what I already told others over Skype: I took this as another joke, like #seekrets. I thought it was some lulzy joke taken a bit far, but wasn't for real. In hindsight, it may have not been the most observant or wise move on my part, but I wasn't expecting some big conpsiracy. At the most I thought it was Todd venting a little, and it'd all go over fine.

I even asked something like "Any new updates on this?" because nothing had happened for a while. I guess I just wanted to confirm in my mind that it was a joke.

I am very deeply sorry to the government of The South Pacific for my involvement and overall stupidity in the handling of the situation.

Honestly, I sort of forgot about it. It was more or less at the bottom of the forums and with all the real life stuff that was going on I mainly stuck to RPing and occasionally check in the government out / doing other tasks. As for that post, I assume if it was still going on you'd have more updates than that. Considering it wasn't even responded to shows it was dead in the water at that point. Doesn't excuse it, but after a week it turned into a possible RP invasion, then after that, well, nothing.

You know, I am quite disappointed and angry at the fact that a former delegate, current Chief Justice and member of the Committee for State Security so much as entertained the thought of messing up our elections, just because he couldn't deal with the notion that the South Pacific could be anything different from what he wanted it to be.

Believe it or not, we are a sovereign region, and even Goddessness or Tsunamy don't have any right to determine who we choose to be. That is, you know, democracy.

Actually McM, in Old TSP, back before we changed everything up after Sedge's coup, there was a "Brave Toaster" forum. That is where people could challenge the delegate. There were no scheduled elections, but anyone could initiate an election at any time by challenging the sitting delegate with a campaign platform in the Brave Toaster forum.

Given the entire history of TSP and such, the code-name actually makes sense.

I'm skeptical over the claims that this was only discussed for a week and then dropped. First, because I've heard rumors for a while now that Unibot and I somehow have manipulation and fraud to thank for our electoral success. Second, because Belschaft stated in his IRC logs that he prefers to organize these types of things in a decentralized manner, specifically not on forums. This was mentioned after the creation of the forums, as I can glean from the IRC logs, so it's no surprise that the forums weren't used after the initial staging.

Anyways, the accusation that I stacked my way into being elected three times this past year is nonsense. I don't campaign. I believe I PM'd maybe one or two people per election, usually those who voted for me and then switched their votes. I don't believe in undermining the very basis of our community just because I don't like who is in government.

@McMasterdonia: It's a reference to TSP's former Brave Little Toaster "election" system. If you wanted to be delegate, you would have to challenge the sitting delegate.
